Hawkeye packed a lot into its six episodes, including The Kingpin's Marvel Cinematic Universe debut and the return of Yelena Belova. That character's involvement in the Disney+ series was first teased in Black Widow's post-credits scene when Valentina Allegra de Fontaine hired Natasha Romanoff's sister to take out the man believed to be responsible for the Avenger's demise.
Yelena would soon learn that wasn't true, of course, and forgave Clint Barton after learning that Natasha sacrificed her life to save the universe.
We don't know what's next for this new Black Widow in the MCU, but something tells us she's probably going to give up being an assassin after what happened in Hawkeye. It would make sense for her to follow in Natasha's footsteps by joining The Avengers, but there are still plenty of stories to tell with Yelena before we see her line up with the rest of Earth's Mightiest Heroes.
In the meantime, Marvel Studios concept artist Josh Nizzi has shared some of his early designs for Yelena's Hawkeye costume and, as you can see, it features some subtle nods to her time as a Black Widow. While Natasha wore that logo into battle after escaping the Red Room, the trauma Yelena went through while her sister was in America likely means she'd be a little more reluctant.
It's a cool costume, anyway, though we're sure Yelena's look will continue to evolve moving forward.
