Marvel CCO Joe Quesada Sheds Some Light On What We Should Expect From "Completely Different" IRON FIST
Will Iron Fist take place in Hell's Kitchen? How will Danny Rand differ to the rest of The Defenders? Hit the jump for some surprising new details on this highly anticipated series from Marvel and Netflix.
Season two of Daredevil is just days away, and with Luke Cage now confirmed to hit Netflix this September, everyone is wondering when Iron Fist is going to follow. We're going to have to wait and see on that of course as the series is still in the process of casting, but talking to Decider recently, Marvel Chief Creative Officer Joe Quesada shed some light on what we should expect from the adventures of Danny Rand. "I think the Danny Rand character himself will have a different perspective on the world than some of the characters that you’re seeing now — as will Luke Cage," he explained. "It’s still the early stages of Iron Fist so I’m a little hesitant to say too much more than that. But Danny Rand is a completely different character and the world that he comes from, how he obtained his powers and his skills — all completely different. I think fans will be pleased."
Interestingly, Quesada then went on to confirm that just like Luke Cage will be moving away from Hell's Kitchen by taking place in Harlem, so too will Iron Fist not be restricted to Daredevil's corner of New York. "It will be a different side of Manhattan. We’re not just locking ourselves into Hell’s Kitchen — although a lot of stuff does go on in Hell’s Kitchen. Luke Cage’s world is still New York, but it’s a different neighborhood. Again, I don’t want to reveal too much more than that, but the show itself will have a different palate, a different feel, a tone. It will sound different. So stay tuned."
