IRONHEART Star Anthony Ramos Suggests BLACK PANTHER Director Ryan Coogler Is Developing The Disney+ Series

Dominique Thorne's Riri Williams will make her MCU debut in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever later this year before blasting into her own Disney+ show, Ironheart. That series has begun to round out its cast, including In The Heights and Hamilton star Anthony Ramos as its villain, and he's suggested filmmaker Ryan Coogler will follow Ironheart from the Black Panther franchise to her show.

"I’m excited. I’m so excited," Ramos says in the video below. "I used to be like in the gym, I’d be like, 'Come on Marvel call, come on Marvel call, let’s go!' That’s what we hope for. I feel blessed. It’s an amazing project. Incredible people, Chinaka Hodge and Ryan Coogler, and just like a dope squad, Dominique Thorne and I feel blessed and grateful."

Hodge has been tapped as Ironheart's Head Writer, so we're assuming Coogler is either writing episodes, directing some of them, producing, or all of the above! Last February, Disney inked a five-year TV deal with Coogler's Proximity Media label, so it's looking like this series will be part of that.

It makes sense for Coogler to help tell Riri's story if he's the one bringing her into this world, and the show is definitely shaping up to be an important chapter in the MCU mythos. Considering Ironheart is basically going to be this world's new Iron Man, that's not really surprising, and we're anticipating the hero's series also setting the stage for Armor Wars starring MCU vet Don Cheadle.

Ironheart is expected to premiere on Disney+ sometime in 2023.

If Coogler is involved I'm sure he's in that writing room as well. I believe everything that he's done he's had a hand in every aspect which is why he doesn't take on many projects at a time.

He kind of puts his heart and soul in his work which is why he's the only director I check for. If coogler is involved it's a huge get and makes me even more excited for this show.

Glad Ramos is in the MCU but I'd prefer him as a hero, preferably as a lead in his own franchise.

I mean as someone who doesn't find her that appealing that would definitely get me to give it a chance. The man is pretty talented.

@IronMan616 - I bet the people who like Japanese adult films will be all over this parody of their film. Marvel ripped off a Japanese porno called GET THIS.....Ironheart. 15 year old marvel comics girl based on a character from the porn industry.
"You read that right. It seems that there was an Iron Man porn parody with a female character, in a female Iron Man costume, who was called Ironheart. The film also predates the Marvel Ironheart comic by a couple of years. I hope it's good but phase 4 has been pretty awful so far, Spiderman being the only redeeming film so far.

The original Japanese porn parody of Iron Man was called “Ironheart” produced by Giga. The main character was played by Hibiki Otsuki. In the film the character is captured, tied up, and used in ways one would expect in a porn film. Then she saves the day."

This is my least anticipated MCU project ever, but Coogler's involvement is promising. Maybe we'll be surprised.

I’m excited to see Iron Man through the lens of a “normal” young person, not a genius billionaire or an army colonel.

Could be a lot of fun if done right.
