So Do We Have A New Power Man!??!??!

Terry Crews, I don't care how old he looks, the dude is Luke Cage. But is the Old Spice Man trying to seal the deal?

So in the past few days a new short film was released that depicts the Old Spice guy Isaiah Mustafa as the great and powerful Luke Cage aka Power Man.

Not too surprised, he's been pretty tight with Marvel in the last few months, and he got a decent following for the wild Old Spice commercials.  Long story short, if this is the case, I'm not upset, it could be worse.  Well it could be a lot better.. don't believe me Henry Simmons could do a good job...

Morris Chestnut is sitting somewhere, I'm sure he could do a good job at portraying Luke Cage...not so much on V if I remember correctly...

And if you are a purist, then you really can't do better than Terry Crews, I don't care how old he looks, the dude is Luke Cage.

But then again, we could be stuck with Tyrese. Sound off, anybody we forgot..feel another actor could do a better job as Luke Cage, then leave a comment. [ellis3]

Henry Simmons seems like he could make a good Luke Cage. Morris Chestnut is a good actor and should get a shot. Isaiah Mustafa is still a big question mark but he could surprise everyone and actually do a good job as Cage.

Crews...just too damn old, come on!
And he's homely as a mud fence!

LUKE CAGE is ghetto but he's still somewhat
pretty!

MORRIS CHESTNUT is only 6'0" tall, I like him
a lot but CAGE is listed at MARVEL as 6'6"!

This MUSTAFA GUY bugs me a little! I saw
him on CHUCK and he wasn't very good in the
acting department! Plus he just doesn't seem
GHETTO enough, to me! Commercials are one thing
but carrying a whole LUKE CAGE movie???

Henry Simmons or the actor BRIAN J. WHITE would
be great (That's not BRIAN JAI WHITE!). BRIAN J.
WHITE is 6'2" and a former football player and
a pretty good character actor (he's always working
on TV) and he really wants to play him! He's
light years ahead of this Mustafa clown, in acting!

@DDD i love being late to parties.. but i dig crews still. Cage today can be thugged out from time to time. he is walking talking black culture of the day. his first incarnation was blaxploitation for comic books (which was the sh*t) but for today him just being "ghetto" would be too one dimensional (and offensive.) He can be a hardcore cat, like azzarello's cage run without being ghetto, because do we really want to see luke cage turn into a sh*t ass flick like soul plane.
i say crews because cage doesnt have to be this fine as wine brothah. it's his charm and charisma that pulls females. i like brian j white and morris chestnut the most behind crews..just as long as they put some weight on them. luke cage got to be a bit cock diesel for the big screen. but its all good, i'll be glad to see a black superhero star in his own movie, all we got are blade (started awesome and went to sh*t), steel, and meteorman.

ELISPART@,
I like the modern CAGE the best.
He is not just one-dimensional.

The word I should have used instead of
GHETTO is "STREET". CAGE is very "STREET.
Some of the actors mentioned here just
aren't street-feeling enough, to me!

CAGE is right there with the common man,
a HERO-FOR-HIRE-type for the average man
in the street.

Heck he's been chosen to lead the 'NEW"
AVENGERS! He's a really intelligent capable
guy! He may have been sent to prison but
he was unjustly prosecuted.

But No, we don't want to see blaxploitation,
I don't want to see BLAXPLOITATION anywhere EVER
again! I wish the world would grow beyond that nonsense.

I'm a Caucasian guy but I want to see more
intelligent superhero movies with heroes
that just happen to be black guys...or gals!
I want more diversification, like the real world.

I like the new ALPHAS series on THE SYFY channel!
One of the characters has great strength from
"FIGHT OR FLIGHT" response, he just happens to
be an AFRICAN AMERICAN who is an FBI agent.
Now that's what I'm talking about!
