Terry Crews has been a fan-favourite choice to play Luke Cage for a number of years now, but as time has passed, the chances of it happening have grown slimmer (despite the fact that he's still in great shape). Even so, many fans were holding out hope that he might still nab the role in Marvel and Netflix's upcoming series, A.K.A. Jessica Jones. However, it was Mike Colter who was eventually chosen, so how does Crews feel about that exactly? "Congratulations to my man Mike Colter for being cast as LUKE CAGE!" Crews posted on his WhoSay account (via ComicBook.com). "A brilliant actor for one of my favorite superheroes ever! Love him!" What do you guys think?

For Luke Cage, I hope they show his street origins. From the hood to being wrongfully being accused and sent to jail to superhero. It would be an awesome origin story. Bring in characters like Willis Stryker, Shades/Comanche, etc.

Terry Crews would have been my pick for Luke Cage, but I think he might have been too old. Nevertheless, he is a fantastic performer and I badly hope he gets to work in an upcoming Marvel Studios project. Maybe he can be one of the supporting characters in BLACK PANTHER, like T'Challa's chief of security, W'Kabi, or communications, Taku. Or he could be a villain like M'Baka the Man-Ape or Eric Killmonger.

Jesus Christ, are people here honestly accusing Terry Crews of envying Colter's position in the MCU?

Where is this coming from, that anyone who shows a neutrality for being the MCU is all of a sudden "egotistic and an asshole" for not dying to have a part in the glorious Marvel Cinematic Universe. Last time I checked, the MCU wasn't exactly "on top" in the movie business. It's just a trend. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy the MCU; but I have no idea why so many people see it as something wonderful.

Also, it's just a series of movies. Why do kids get so worked up about it like they have stock in these flicks or something.

I must admit that I was rooting for Crews to get this gig. I think Colter will be fine as he is a good actor. I remember when the comic came out in 1972 with the metal head band and the chain for a belt (I do not expect that look in the show, but it would cool if there was a "nod to them and the yellow shirt."). Looking forward to seeing how the Netflix shows will unfold and possibly spill over to the greater MCU.

That would be awesome if Colter could bulk up to more of a crews style. Marvel has had success with building up good actors. Luke Cage is the power man and HAS to be very physically imposing.
