Despite initially appearing to distance itself from the original series, Tim Kring's upcoming Heroes Reborn has put together quite the collection of familiar faces recently. 'Noah Bennet', 'The Haitian' and 'Hiro Nakumura' are all confirmed to be returning to the NBC show. Now EW are reporting that we can add 'Matt Parkman's name to that list, with actor Greg Grunberg (Felicity) apparently on board to return as well as the telepathic former cop.
Grunberg had originally denied that he would be appearing in the revival when he was quizzed on the matter last year, but he appears to have had a change of heart. Notably, unlike Jack Coleman's Bennet, Parkman will only appear in a guest starring capacity. This situation arguably represents the best of both worlds - capturing the nostalgia of Parkman's return, without oversaturating the new show with too many old faces and storylines.
What do you think of Grunberg's return? Are you excited to see the older characters return, or would you rather Heroes Reborn act as a fresh slate for the series? As always, leave your thoughts in the comments section below!
