Season 2 of The Mandalorian brought Boba Fett back to a Galaxy Far, Far Away, revealing that he'd survived the Sarlacc Pit and spent years holed up on Tatooine (with Cobb Vanth using his old armour). Eventually, Fett would retrieve his property from Din Djarin, while a post-credits scene set the stage for a spinoff series titled The Book of Boba Fett.
That show is heading our way later this year, with Jon Favreau, Bryce Dallas Howard, Dave Filoni, Sam Hargrave, and Robert Rodriguez all set to explore Fett's new role as Tatooine's Kingpin.
During an interview with Collider, Rodriguez chose his words carefully, but promised that fans have plenty to be excited about when it comes to this Star Wars series on Disney+.
"[I] can’t say anything about it at all right now, but it’s coming out in December," he confirmed. "Wait until you see what’s coming. It’s going to blow your mind. That’s all I can say. I can talk it up all I want, because I know it over-delivers. It way over-delivers. People are going to be so pumped when they see it."
It really does sound like we're in store for something special with The Book of Boba Fett, and insiders have previously described it as "The Mandalorian Season 2.5." Whether that means we'll see Din and get some hints about the quest to retake Mandalore is unclear, but this show should be a must-watch either way.
