Last Wednesday, "The Tribes of Tatooine" lived up to its title by delivering a superb episode of The Book of Boba Fett that explored the bounty hunter's burgeoning relationship with the planet's Tusken Raiders. Taking us back to the immediate aftermath of Return of the Jedi, we learned how Fett came to be part of the group many know as the Sand People.
It feels like this period in Fett's life is destined to end in tragedy, as we can't imagine what else would lead to him leaving the tribe to retrieve his armour and take control of Tatooine's underworld.
Hopefully, The Book of Boba Fett will find a way to surprise us, but elsewhere in these stills, we get to see more of what's happening on the planet in the "present" day (post-The Mandalorian season 2, pre-The Force Awakens). As a result, we get a great shot of Black Krrsantan - a bounty hunter first introduced by Marvel Comics - and The Twins, Jabba the Hutt's monstrous cousins.
Mos Espa's mayor also shows up, and as interesting as his exchange with the former bounty hunter was, we're pretty sure he isn't going to be a key player in this Disney+ series moving forward. Here's a fun piece of trivia for you; it was filmmaker (and the director of this show's premiere) Robert Rodriguez lending his voice to Mok Shaiz during his tense exchange with Fett and Fennec Shand.
