Will THE MANDALORIAN Lose Pedro Pascal To FANTASTIC FOUR? Here's The Latest On Plans For Season 4

There have been lots of rumours swirling about The Mandalorian season 4, but thanks to a couple of stars and insiders, we have a positive update on where things stand with the show and star Pedro Pascal.

Around the time both the Hollywood strikes began, we heard that The Mandalorian season 4 was ready and written. Original plans called for the Disney+ series to start shooting in October, but with the dispute between studios and writers/actors only recently reaching its end, it's been clear for a while that a delay was inevitable.

However, we may have a much-needed positive update courtesy of two actors who are a key part of the hit Star Wars TV series.

The first comes our way from Katee Sackhoff; the Bo-Katan Kryze actress shared a shot of herself from season 3 and essentially confirmed she'll return as the Mandalorian warrior in the next batch of episodes (no huge shock given her increased popularity).

Then, Din Djarin stunt performer and body double, Brendan Wayne, posted a photo on Instagram with the caption, "Only one thing is more exciting to me than the strike being over or season 4 of Mando getting ramped up and that is Season 2 of Coach Mando and the Lady Lancers."

Clearly, with the strikes over, actors are being told that they'll soon be needed to head back into a Galaxy Far, Far Away.

It seems unlikely cameras will begin rolling before 2023 is over, but when production does begin, will it be without lead actor and rumoured Fantastic Four star Pedro Pascal? Recently, it's been reported that the actor won't return as Din, with some going so far as to suggest he'll be too busy to voice the character.

As StarWarsNews.net explains (via SFFGazette.com), "This is absolute misinformation. It was all taken from a story by Bespin Bulletin, where it was argued that the actor will likely not go down to the sound stage a lot during production, as he still has to finish shooting Gladiator 2 and will be spending the first part of 2024 in Canada shooting the second season of The Last of Us"

This is nothing new as Pascal never actually set foot on the set of The Mandalorian season 3. The series has established that Din won't remove his helmet again, so the actor simply isn't needed beyond stepping into the recording booth at some point during post-production.

Bespin Bulletin has also chimed in to add, "Don’t expect him to be on the Mando set. He’ll be the voice. Just don’t expect him in the suit...I would expect him to show his face for the Filoni movie though. Big blockbuster - he’ll be all over it, as he should."

Are you looking forward to The Mandalorian season 4?

Pedro Pascal gets paid a crazy amount of money to do nothing but go in a recording booth for a couple hours. He is rarely in the costume. I’m sure he will keep voicing the character. And there’s nothing wrong with that. Vader was also played by someone never in the costume and never on set.

@MrDandy - Yeah but being a hot actor now, why waste hours in a booth for small pay when you can get paid more for bigger gigs? Mando's story was wrapped up in S3, don't really see a reason for him to return.

If anything they can just recast or find a soundalike thats cheaper simiar to Marvel's What IF show.

Pedro is essentially a voice actor on The Mandalorian at this point, with occasional face work. He can perform most of his acting from his toilet if he wants to.

If anyone actually still gave a shit about this franchise I'd consider this article as blatant fear mongering.

@HashTagSwagg - weird take - if people didn't give a shit, they wouldn't spend the money on a S4

@WhatIfRickJames - no one gave a sh!t about a captain marvel sequel, yet they pumped $300 mil down the toile....I mean into the marvels.
WhatIfRickJames
WhatIfRickJames - 11/17/2023, 10:47 AM
@Origame - no one thought that it was going to be a turd when they were filming it it 2021. It was too far into production to back out after Quantumania nosedived. Not saying that the SAG strike hurt, but it didn't help

@Origame - I mean CM made a [frick] ton of money. Why wouldn't you take that gamble

Origame - 11/17/2023, 11:14 AM
@WhatIfRickJames - well hindsight is 20/20, but they should've heard the feedback and realized the only reason the first movie made a billion was because it was at the hypest moment for the mcu and it was hyped up especially as being important for endgame.

Ridiculous article. He voices the character so no, they will not loose him.

@Comicmoviejunki - Let's hope not simply to keep him from being Reed Richards. Does not fit that part at all.

Pedro can record his lines for the whole season in an afternoon. Getting another role won’t affect his part time voice acting for that show.

WhatIfRickJames - 11/17/2023, 9:44 AM
Him as the Mandalorian is basically a layup. He can record his lines wherever, whenever he wants. The Mando character will be just fine

Still one of the greatest moments in StarWars history...

@Nomis929 - I'm not a big SW guy but I even got major chills with that scene. It was like Vadar's brief scene at the end of Rogue One on crack.
Nomis929
Nomis929 - 11/17/2023, 10:11 AM
@lazlodaytona - Exactly. I'm sure that wasn't by accident.

Someone made a video right after that and synched up the two scenes.

@Nomis929 - It was great. Too bad the follow up to this in Book of Boba Fett was wasted. I wish they would have had the courage to not reunite Grogu with Mando so quickly and had him stay with Luke for longer.
Nomis929
Nomis929 - 11/17/2023, 10:30 AM
@mountainman - I really didn't think they needed to reunited them at all. let Grogu stay with Luke.

Take the show in another entirely different direction with Mando on another mission.

All he needs is one day to shoot his part with the helmet off. If there is even a scene for it. Otherwise, it will be Brendan Wayne the whole time.

At this point, it already feels like they are going to run the series for too long just for the money and at the sake of quality.
mountainman
mountainman - 11/17/2023, 10:26 AM
@MosquitoFarmer - Season 3 was a huge step down in quality. It feels like they are treading water now. It felt like Season 2 could have been a series ender, but now they need it to keep running until Filioni is ready with his other projects to put it together in his movie.

I wouldn't put a lot of stock into Pedro as Reed. Betting someone out of left field gets announced by Marvel in the next week.

Din Djarin is a supporting character in his own show now, so does it really matter if he returns.
slickrickdesigns

Even if Pedro gets a role with marvel I don’t see him not reprising a voice over role. He can literally be done with the entire season voicing his role within a week.
bobevanz
bobevanz - 11/17/2023, 2:23 PM
The first two seasons was perfect, season 3 fell down the stairs and broke it's neck. Boba Fett was terrible, obi Wan had a budget of 90m.. the cheapest SW show with the most importance.. it would seem everything is going to shit lol

LSHF - 11/17/2023, 4:43 PM
It seems to matter very little, as Pedro doesn't really need to be there on the set if we can't see his face.
