Around the time both the Hollywood strikes began, we heard that The Mandalorian season 4 was ready and written. Original plans called for the Disney+ series to start shooting in October, but with the dispute between studios and writers/actors only recently reaching its end, it's been clear for a while that a delay was inevitable.
However, we may have a much-needed positive update courtesy of two actors who are a key part of the hit Star Wars TV series.
The first comes our way from Katee Sackhoff; the Bo-Katan Kryze actress shared a shot of herself from season 3 and essentially confirmed she'll return as the Mandalorian warrior in the next batch of episodes (no huge shock given her increased popularity).
Then, Din Djarin stunt performer and body double, Brendan Wayne, posted a photo on Instagram with the caption, "Only one thing is more exciting to me than the strike being over or season 4 of Mando getting ramped up and that is Season 2 of Coach Mando and the Lady Lancers."
Clearly, with the strikes over, actors are being told that they'll soon be needed to head back into a Galaxy Far, Far Away.
It seems unlikely cameras will begin rolling before 2023 is over, but when production does begin, will it be without lead actor and rumoured Fantastic Four star Pedro Pascal? Recently, it's been reported that the actor won't return as Din, with some going so far as to suggest he'll be too busy to voice the character.
As StarWarsNews.net explains (via SFFGazette.com), "This is absolute misinformation. It was all taken from a story by Bespin Bulletin, where it was argued that the actor will likely not go down to the sound stage a lot during production, as he still has to finish shooting Gladiator 2 and will be spending the first part of 2024 in Canada shooting the second season of The Last of Us"
This is nothing new as Pascal never actually set foot on the set of The Mandalorian season 3. The series has established that Din won't remove his helmet again, so the actor simply isn't needed beyond stepping into the recording booth at some point during post-production.
Bespin Bulletin has also chimed in to add, "Don’t expect him to be on the Mando set. He’ll be the voice. Just don’t expect him in the suit...I would expect him to show his face for the Filoni movie though. Big blockbuster - he’ll be all over it, as he should."
Are you looking forward to The Mandalorian season 4?
