Comicbookmovie tie in games

A small article about whether we need movie games

Comicbook movie tie in games are known for being astonishingly bad, I'm not talking about everyday spider-man or batman games but games specific to a movie. It's a crime that game developers would use comicbook fans for a quick cash in. Have you ever played spider-man:the movie? If you have then it sucks to be you but if you haven't get on your knees and thank God for this stroke of luck.

There have been some good games but I can only think of two. X men origins Wolverine perfected Wolverines ability to heal and improved on the story of the movie. Spider-man 2 was the first free roam spider-man game. There was a whole city for explorartion ande many things to do, something that would be absent in later games.

Sometimes I feel cheated as a fan. Knowing that game developers are using comicbook fans to buy bad games is sickening. Is it too much to ask that they put effort in their games or should they stop making them altogether, I for one won't be buying anymore.

Personally I prefer the free-roaming spidey games (and shattered dimensions)
because whenever I'm having a bad day or want to kick somebodies teeth in I "suit" up as spidey and swing into action and kick thug arse. It's simple and repetive but every now and again it just feels awesome. And I'm addicted to web-swinging

I enjoyed X-Men: Wolverine, Spider-Man: Shattered Dimension, Batman Arkham Asylum, and Captain America Super-Soldier (a cheap but fun Batman AA clone)

Cap was great for a movie game. As was spidey 2,the incredible hulk, wolverine and even iron man 2 to a very small extent

Remember in spider man 1 you could enter a code to play as Green Goblin, man that made the game so much more awesomer. sure there wasn't free-roam, but using the glider to take out baddies was fun. Iron Man 2 was way better than the first game, but it still wasn't fully amazing.

Um.....Spiderman TMG was pretty damn good....for it's time. You had a control over the swinging ability of spidey and as a bonus you had a green goblin play through.

the first spider-man game was awesome. Bruce Campbell was the narrator.

Theres a code that unlocks a first person mode in the original spidey. Talk about ASM trailer!

ThreeBigTacos - "so much more awesomer"... Wow... I advise less time with games and more time with the Oxford English Dictionary...

I never played the third Spidey film game, but I enjoyed the first two. The first one had a better story-mode than the second one. The second one's free-play was awesome and made me wish that I hadn't deleted my saved game on the PS2 so that I could do it all the time without having to replay the whole game. ((I'd have to buy the game, first, though)
