Fans of the caped crusader haven't been privileged with many great games over the long history of Batman gaming. Until Batman: Arkham Asylum, there hadn't been one that truly captured the essence of the Dark Knight himself. While Rocksteady looks to continue its award-winning saga of Batman and his many villains in October's Batman: Arkham City, Monolith Productions is going in a totally different route with Gotham City Impostors.
If you haven't already heard of it, Gotham City Impostors is a XBLA multiplayer FPS with an emphasis on the wacky instead of the moody, the silly over the serious. In other words, it's Joel Schumacher Batman, and not Christopher Nolan Batman. Gamers won't find Bruce Wayne or any other recognizable characters in Impostors, hence the name. Instead you take on the role of one of many fully-customizable citizens fighting for the cause of the "Bats" or the "Jokerz".
Gotham City Impostors, will be released in 2012, Microsoft Windows, PlayStation Network and Xbox Live Arcade
