News from Game Informer Magazine:
"Microsoft's Frank O'Connor hasn't exactly been quiet about his desire to expand the Halo franchise into television and film. Echoing several previous statements, O'Connor has once again promised that "there will be a Halo movie."
Speaking to writer Harold Goldberg at the Future of Television East conference, O'Connor explains why the project – which has been on the cusp of happening for years – has yet to come to fruition. “It was the lawyers,” O’Connor admits. “When they went behind closed doors with the contracts, things fell apart."
Despite the legal wrangling for licensing rights, O'Connor is confident that the Halo movie will happen: “There will be a Halo movie. We don’t need a movie. But we’d like a movie. We’d like the moms of gamers to see the movies because they would love our characters. Maybe we’ll even fund it ourselves.”
This is good news for Halo fans...except the ones who don't want their moms to develop crushes on Master Chief."
Judging by all the games Bungie came out with and the story, Halo is going to be the next Star Wars.
