"Marvel vs. Capcom 3: Fate of Two Worlds" was revealed last week in Hawaii at Capcom's annual Captivate event. It will include arround 30 characters from the Marvel and Capcom universes and makes the transition into 3-D.

Headed to Xbox 360 and PS3 in Spring 2011 as a full-fledged retail release, "Marvel vs. Capcom 3: Fate of Two Worlds" tornado whirlwind kicks the blockbuster series--dormant for 10 years aside from the 2009 digital re-release of "Marvel vs. Capcom 2"--into the 21st Century with massively updated graphics, new characters, new levels, a new story...almost new everything! Don't worry though, many old favorites return with "MvC3."

Producer Ryota Niitsuma and Capcom are working feverishly to get as many characters into the game and plan to have roughly 30 in the game when it smashes onto consoles next year.

it'll make the transition into 3D, but it'll still play like a 2D fighter. much like the new Street Fighter games.

no, Cable was the CHEAPEST character, lol.

i just hope they do away with the assists, or at least make it so you can only do them a limited number of times. nothing pisses me off more than playing someone online that just sits in the corner and spams the assist buttons. like it takes ANY skill to sit there and push the same button over and over again. people are lame. learn to play the game, pussies...

Not a huge fan of the Capcom characters or this type of game but I'd be tempted to pick this up because it looks pretty cool..! Nice find HAWKS!

OHH CDB@!! Punisher is a MUST!! i didn't even think about him. he got the shaft when they left him out of ultimate alliance.

Hawks@ 'sall good. i just wanted to talk to fellow CBMers about this!

BlackAirs@ i've always wanted some good Doc Ock action in video games! he got no love in either Ultimate Alliance games. but i understand why, he's not a great, really stronger fighter. Doc Ock was just the first "bad guy" i was ever really aware of as a child so he'll always be my sentimental-favorite. i think he could work well in a 2D fighting game (assuming this is going to be like SFIV)

all those others gotta make it in! Black Panther especially. his combat is off the hook!

Ultimate screen filling beam death - Ryu, Cyclops, Iron Man. I loved that game. Add the new art style they've been using and this is going to be awesome sick.

Technically the story was leaked a couple of weeks ago. Hawks was just the first person to report it after the official announcememnt.

Great job though Hawks.

AWESOME!!!!!!! But i agree with Kevin, I want more characters, it was one of the best things about MvC2 even if the fighting styles are similar, just stick in as many characters as possible.

they'll probably put more characters out for download.

and it'll be tag. the first game only had like 20 characters (if that) and it was tag. the 2nd had 60 and was 3 man tag.

for sure, wolvie was great, he just couldn't take a lot of damage.

i play this all the time on xbox live, and back when arcades were around, i used to play in tournaments. i know everyone's strengths and weaknesses, lol.

BTW, i guarantee you don't kill two whole characters off my team with wolvie :)

I don't mind just 30 characters if it means that they will all feel very unique. The Hulk or the Juggernaut VS. Captain America or Wolverine should feel like a total mismatch.

The trailer looks good though, superhero fighting games need to be in 3D in order to grasp the scale.

Maybe im being optimistic, but this looks to be one of the biggest releases in console history!!!

here's my wishlist:
-Thor
-Ms. Marvel
-Deadpool
-Sentry
-Iron Fist
-Bishop

My guess is they'll put 30 in the game and maybe 5-10 more downloadable. but don't be surprised if they hold off on throwing a bunch of characters into it. remember, theyre trying to build a franchise here. so they could easily release a new edition every-so-often with a few new characters, storyline and levels and turn it into a cash cow like EA sports games

Nah bro, I wanna be able to throw guys through buildings, toss oil tankers around and fully use the most powerful characters like Magneto and Juggernaut...You can't do that in 2D.

GreenLantern, makes sense to hold back a few characters.

They should still include both Iron Man and War Machine.

My favorite characters were:

- Iron Man
- War Machine }used together
- Captain Commando
- Sabretooth
- B.B. Hood
- Morrigan
- Venom

if you use Sabretooth, Iron Man, and Cable all set to projectile, then their triple team is the strongest in the game. it will kill almost every character in the game in one shot.
