Metal Gear Solid & Castlevania For the Big Screen!

Metal Gear Solid & Castlevania For the Big Screen!

ShockTillYouDrop.com went to the set of "Resident Evil: Afterlife" in Toronto and found out some interesting things about a couple more video games slash comic book movies. Read it here...

Producer Jeremy Bolt of the new "Resident Evil: Afterlife" talked to them this morning saying that Paul W.S. Anderson is interested in the video game movie adaptation of "Castlevania" and is still circling it around. "Castlevania" will be from Rogue Pictures, anyway he's just waiting on a script. James Wan was attached to direct the movie, but not now known if he's still attached to the project.

On bigger news, well i reckon anyway, Bolt has also added that he and Paul W.S. Anderson want to adapt another video game movie to the big screen; "Metal Gear Solid" at Columbia Pictures.

Many thanks to Shocktillyoudrop.

LEEE777 - Damn i hope this all comes true, especially about "Metal Gear Solid." I love that game and i'm not the only on e here at CBM i'm sure. Fingers crossed.

Terrible idea.
MGS is pretty much like watching a movie anyways, the cut scenes are like 15 min long.
And MGS is such a legendary game because of the medium and the way u experience it.
Bringing it to the big screen would only dilute its brilliance and never be able to recreate what made us all love it in the first place.

Paul W.S. Anderson should not and I repeat x infinity !!!!!! Have anything to do with this movie . I have never played the game but I watched my brother play it and I studied the story and all of it's dynamics . The potential of this "Metal Gear" franchise is vast and should not be squandered . Someone from Konami needs to protest this possibility .

Teabag- You need to get yourself a PSone (or PS2) and play Castlevania: Symphony of the night ASAP!!!

Betty- I'm with you, Van Helsing would have been such a good film had it not starred the worst possible Dracula EVER!!! Well, frankenstein sucked too but the rest was all freakin' cool ;)

Great find LEE.... MSG is so freakin awesome...

McSqeeze - Aren't most video game similar in that sense ... I meant even resident evil was like that and in my opinion the First and second were very close to the game.

In closing with the indepth story line of this game i can see this movie being AWESOME

MGS Sucks, bring on the action games, this game was too sneaky for me although it had cool gadgets but still it was very boring. Id rather play any other action game, besides Snake is sooo overrated,

@LEEE - I think Kingsley is too old. He probably can't even bend his posture to get a good shot, while reading his lines.. ;)

MGS is no different from bond, just american. Besides the villians are alone enough to go see this movie..

It's official, David Hayter? or Carl Urban

Thank you Leee777: YOu have given me hope. I have all three games of the Solid Franchise and have been hoping for a movie trilogy most of my life. If it's not made though then I'm going to make it, I'm tired of waiting for this to become a movie. P.S. No Christain Bale for this movie please.

I always thought Metal Gear would make a wonderful movie, just about every game is like a movie anyway with all the cutscenes. The story is also very very smart and well thought out, pinning a script would be cake you can almost completely go from the game since there is so much good dialogue.

I hope these movies do not happen... at least with Paul W.S. Anderson having anything to do with them. I say they get someone talented to do these movies instead. How he got Milla Jovovich I will never know...

David Hayter for Solid Snake. I think they should make the original Metal Gear story as a movie.
DeadWebHead
DeadWebHead - 11/14/2009, 5:43 AM
Ok... I love David Hayter as much as the next MGS fan and he's a great Voice Actor and all (Not only Voicing Snake but also Captian America), but have you guys ever seen him act live action? Go watch "Guyver: Dark Hero". Aside from being a crappy movie it's also notable that he cannot act worth a crap. HOWEVER... I would love if he wrote the movie! That would be awesome!

The production of a MGS movie scares me as much as the production of a GITS (Ghost in the Shell) movie. I just don't see them doing it right
Fumbles
Fumbles - 11/14/2009, 8:56 AM
NO!!! I do not want Anderson to bastardize one of the greatest videogames in the history of my life, he did it already with Resident Evil, I don't care what anyone says, those movies are awful and have nothing to do with the games. Get Kojima on board to direct the movie just like he did with the game and it will be EPIC!!!!
