"Tekken" is set in 2039, the adaption promises non-stop high flying action as like "Mortal Kombat" (but less supernatural), the greatest fighters from around the earth come to compete in the last and greatest sporting event of all time, the Fist Tournament.

All the fighters were choreographed by Cyril Raffaelli of District 13 fame an the scripts written by Alan B. McElroy (Spawn).

It's reported as yet no US distributor, but Warner Brothers will be releasing in Japan.

LEEE777 - All i can say is, i really like the video game a lot, in fact Tekken 3 was my all time favorite and first ever playstation game. I am hoping for the best with this one as Tekken holds dear to the heart strings, comments below.

Looks a bit hokey. Chicks are hot though, might check it out on DVD in the hopes of at least some good fights.

This trailer has turned me off now. It should have focused more on his Jin's story. At least create some kind of feeling as to why he's actually fighting instead of just showing everone kicking each other's asses.

Cmon, this will be a Ewe Bol effort. They actually have the character selection screens from the game! lmao. I'm sure all the fight scenes will look good..who gives a shit when the people hitting each other are made of cardboard.

Its from the guy that brought us Anaconda 3 for Gods sake, what can anyone expect? This sis the problem with video game adaps and why ,in all likelihood, we will never see a good one. No director worth a damn will touch them because of the stigma attached. That and the scripts are always atrocious. It all begins with a good writer. If someone cared enough to really try to take these stories and write something with any kind of heart and merit, and not just have the characters spout shite at each other between fights, maybe a studio and a director that knew what they were doing would get involved. Until then, expect all of your favorite games to be vomited into movies.

WOW LEEE, great find! Can't wait for you to bring in King Of Fighter's trailer :))

Personaly, it looks as good as what i thought it would look LOL. So i'm not too dissapointed. I never was a fan of the Tekken games or Vurtia Fighter for that matter. I've always been a 2D fighter fan. But this movie looks as decent as the DOA film which i was still able to enjoy as much as Van Damme's The Quest. His Street Fighter film was complete and utter dissapointing shit though. Don't get me wrong, they're all shit. But high flying spectacular shit doesn't dissapoint me when i expect it to be just that. One of my all time favorite films is "Heat Seeker" with Gary Daniels. GI JOE was a flat out dissapointment. It was meant to be waaaayyyy better than that.

If Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa is in it, then it's bound to be horrible, this is no exception. That trailer looked like pure trash, and I will not be seeing it.

telavizion, no I'd have to say the best video game adaptation is still Silent Hill. It's the only one that doesn't look like it was made by a 13 year old.

Hey your ALL right,

video game based films have never got the respect they deserved (like a lot of comic based ones :-P ) when adapting them, BUT ive gotta say' even if this is a straight-to-dvd cheap n cheerful job it actually doesnt look that bad :-).
The characters look spot on enough in looks etc and thats always the biggest enemy of anything like this... "When a character resembles his namesake in almost nothing but name and a at least 1 effect of some sort. grrrr.

Stumblin- Tagawa was in Balls of Fury and that kicked mega ass!!! LOL Also, the first Mortal Kombat is one of my faves! Saw it 23 times the first week it came out on tape ;) He is the perfect pick for The Mandarin... well looks wise :P

Sadly, I've been waiting for this movie a long time. Even though it looks very disappointing, I'm going to see it in the cinema just for the fun of the action scenes.

I'll leave the complex story-telling to the video games.

Not to mention that I think Yoshimitsu is the best looking one out of all of them. Looks like his Tekken 3 counterpart.

Raven's actor looks good, but put him in his black jumpsuit.
