A new official still from the upcoming Tomb Raider reboot has been released online, and Alicia Vikander looks like she's stepped right out of the video game as Lara Croft. Check it out after the jump...
Empire has debuted a brand new still from the upcoming Tomb Raider reboot, giving us another look at Academy Award-winner Alicia Vikander as iconic video game heroine Lara Croft, preparing to put an arrow through a bad guy.
The mag has included some quotes from Vikander, who promises a more modern-day take on this younger incarnation of Ms. Croft. “We asked, ‘What are the famous traits of this person?’” recalls the Ex Machina star. “‘How can we demonstrate them in the story, but make her feel like a young woman in 2018?’”
The plot of the reboot is expected to be heavily influenced by the 2013 video game, which followed Croft's adventures after she was shipwrecked on the fictional island of Yamatai.
Tomb Raider also stars Walton Goggins, Daniel Wu, Hannah John-Kamen and Dominic West, and is set to hit theaters on March 16, 2018.
