Lara Croft is finally returning to the big screen this weekend for Warner Bros.' Tomb Raider reboot, a movie which has so far been met with extremely mixed reviews. With any luck then, the character will fare a little better back in the world of video games and the first teaser trailer has now been released for the upcoming Shadow of the Tomb Raider which you guys can check out in the player below.

Not an awful lot has been revealed about the title but the logline reads, "Experience Lara Croft’s defining moment as she becomes the Tomb Raider" so it will presumably revolve around her origin.

Shadow of the Tomb Raider is set to be released on September 14th, 2018 on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC. However, this teaser trailer confirms that we'll be getting a full reveal on April 27th, so we don't have too long to wait until more is revealed about this title. Do you plan on checking it out?

Still haven’t played the second one since there was that wierd exclusivity deal with Xbox and I own a PS4 but I’m excited. I’ll probably binge the first 2 before it releases, I need some good 3rd person action games now that Uncharted is shelved for a bit

So the leak was real? Huh. Never finished Rise. I liked the first one but something about the second was off for me. For those who played it, should I give it a second chance?

But second one had more refined action.

Love em both.
I can't finish the dlc for the second one. I'm actually, lost on where to go. Reminds me of classic tomb raider where it was a mystery where to go - but in a bad way

I have no interest in the film but I have absolutely adored the two rebooted Tomb Raider games and will definitely be pre-ordering this one

@aflynn - is she a good actress? If she can pull off the UK accent, she would make a good tomb raider in looks. Haven't seen her ass tho. That has to be plump to play the rebooted tomb raider

For [frick]s sake, give us a game where she's not *still* learning to Become the Tomb Raider! Lara was a badass in the original games, she did not have time for three gritty origins in a row!

I really liked the first two games, but they don't have much replay value IMO. Like I've played all the Uncharteds end to end a few times, but never felt like going throught these games a second time.

@Boyle360 - It got way too played out, but there's nothing inherently wrong with rising or dawning or ages of things. Sort of like the blue-and-orange thing. It was so popular because it was effective and applicable to everything.
