Nicolas Winding Refn Calls His Wonder Woman Choice Christina Hendricks, A "Perfect Woman"!

Yes, that's right, he's still talking about why he wants Christina Hendricks to play Wonder Woman on the big screen, this time elaborating on what makes her right for the role and discussing his remake of Logan's Run...

According to the Drive director in previous interviews, if he manages to follow up the success of his latest movie with his remake of Logan's Run, a big screen adaptation of Wonder Woman will be his. He's made it very, very clear just how interested he is on the project as of late, also pointing out that it's Mad Men's Christina Hendricks who is his #1 choice for the role. Well, in the following video interview with Digital Spy, he once again goes on to call her "a perfect woman" and to describe what exactly makes her right for the iconic DC superhero. Refn also comments on Logan's Run.

As anyone who has seen her on Mad Men will surely agree, Hendricks is a great actress, but not one who I believe is well suited to the role of Wonder Woman. The character's recent debut in DC's "The New 52" was pretty much the perfect portrayal of the Amazon princess, and not something I could imagine the Drive actress being able to pull off. However, what do you guys think? Be sure to share your thoughts in the usual place!

Anyone with a rack like that is perfect. Who cares if she can act, if its a wonder women movie all anyone will care about is the boobs. I say sign her up and bring on Snyder so we can get those slow-mo scenes

Agree with everybody, she is no Wonde Woman! I like that he has so much passion for the character, but his choice of Hendricks makes me worry...
Gladly she's already 36, too old for a woman to start and action franchise...Warner woun't allow it.

@The Doctor- Your resume is mildly impressive, but you apparently have no understanding of how Hollywood works. Just because someone wants to do something doesn't mean it will get done - especially when you're dealing with big studios and licensed properties. Beyonce wanted to play Wonder Woman. Joss Whedon wanted to write and direct Wonder Woman. These are bigger names than Refn and Hendricks. They didn't get what they wanted. Nicolas Cage wanted to do Ghost Rider. He didn't "nail it," and he's a better actor than Christina Hendricks. She's been good in a supporting role in a period drama; that's it. She's displayed no range, and let's face it - the figure that supports those breasts is simply all wrong for an Amazon. It's not the same as Heath Ledger playing the Joker at all.

perfect woner woman choices: Julia Voth, Serinda Swan, Taylor Cole or Erin Cummings.

Although she's beautiful and curvy (yes, tweeeenkies, that's a curvy woman. But, you probably into stick figures ;)) she's not athletic enough to play WW.

Plus, will they show WW stealing her bracelets back from Snyder's "Superman"?

@Doctor.

I have studied acting for well over 10 years, 6 of which at one of the best acting schools in the country, as well as received my ba in film and my family and family friends all work in the entertainment industry...

But it doesn't mean I the great OZ of film casting.

It doesn't matter how much Hendricks wants the role, it's about name, and if you think a studio would risk 100 mill on a tent pole summer flick on Hendricks, who has never carried a movie on her own at all, then your credentials mean nada, cause thats naive.

captquirk
captquirk - 9/24/2011, 6:39 AM
She is quite a MILF, but she doesn't have the exotic features, and I'm not sure how well she could handle a heavy action flick. They would likely have a stunt person in most of the scenes, and might as well hire the stunt girl.

But DAMN! I'd hit that!
jazzman
jazzman - 9/24/2011, 6:41 AM
@cole33

its not always about name to sell of a movie. Chris Hemsworth was a nobody until now also that goes with Jeremy Renner and etc. Chris Evans did notcarried a movie on his own until been a main starin Captian America.

Hollywood industry are looking for unknown/up and coming actors. the big name actors now costing Hollywood too much money.

Are we gonna get a newsflash everytime he talks about Wonder Woman? ;P Seriously though, all of his interviews about WW are getting repetitive.
I wouldn't mind his directing a WW film though, as long as Christina Hendricks won't play Diana.
