WONDER WOMAN Gal Gadot Lassos Female Lead In BEN-HUR

As we found out earlier, the lovely Gal Gadot will be reprising the role of Wonder Woman for her solo movie outing in 2017, but before that the Fast & Furious is said to be in early talks for the role of Esther in Paramount's remake of the sword 'n sandals epic.

Paramount and MGM's upcoming retelling of Ben-Hur would hardly be considered a comic book movie (though as you can see below, there have been a few comic adaptations of the classic tale), but it might just star an actress who looks set to be one of the biggest CBM names in the geekosphere when she portrays Wonder Woman for the first time on the big screen in Zack Snyder's Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice. Gal Gadot, who will also reprise the role in the Justice league movies and a solo Wonder Woman flick, is in early talks to play the female lead role of Esther, a slave with whom Ben-Hur is in love. Jack Huston will play the titular Jewish Prince and Toby Kebbell the villain of the piece, Messala. Morgan Freeman is also on board as the man who trains Ben-Hur. Timur Bekmambetov will direct from a script by Keith Clarke and John Ridley. Ben-Hur will film early next year in Europe for release on February 26, 2016.

Its a good sign that Gal Gadot has been lasso'ing a lot of roles besides DC projects.

She must be doing some fine acting at auditions lately because she has got good roles coming up besides the obvious wonder woman part. Can't wait to see what she can do!

Obviously... Ben-Hur is based in Palestine and is about Jewish people... so duhh she's the one they'll go for.
Soon they'll cast Ezra Miller too.

Morgan Freeman? Yes!
Toby Kebbel? Hell yes!

Timur Bekmambetov? Ugh.

@DIAMONDZ- I never heard she tested for the role. I just know that fanboys wanted her for the part. Fan castings are so boring and unimaginative. "Jamie Alexander played a female warrior in Thor so she should play a female warrior in Wonder Woman." Ugh.

UNREAL.
They actually cast an Israeli/Jewish lady to play an ancient Israeli/Jewish lady in a Biblical-esque Epic involving ancient Israeli/Jewish characters instead of casting some Anglo-American people who don't nearly look the part...
Something fishy's a foot, ladies and gentlemen...is Hollywood actually attempting some...what's that word again...?...-Authenticity! -That's it!

Probably not...I mean, the great but conspicuously non-Arab Morgan Freeman as Ildarin and British Jack Huston as Judah Ben-Hur?

Of course...having grown up on all those Biblical Epics of yore, I'll still watch the HELL outta this one.

to Lem1:

Gal Gadot is an Ashkenazi Jew. Noah co-starred Logan Lerman, who is 100% Ashkenazi Jewish just like Gal, and Jennifer Connelly, whose mother is Ashkenazi Jewish.

So this is not rare or anything. BTW, Gal Gadot's character in the 1959 Ben-Hur was played by Israeli actress Haya Harareet.
