Appearing at a promotional event for Wonder Woman's looming home video release, director Patty Jenkins touched on the amount of input she had on the Justice League movie being directed by Zack Snyder and Joss Whedon. After guiding the DCEU's first box office sucess that also wasn't a failure with fans and critics, did WB think to consult her on Diana of Themyscira's appearance in JL?
Jenkins revealed that wasn't the case, stating that she had virtually no input. Do you think that bodes well for how Justice League will depict Wonder Woman? Or are you confident that Snyder's involvement on the Amazon warrior's origin story will ensure that Gal Gadot's character isn't radically different when the DCEU assembles the League?
Jenkins also touched on the one thing she'd like to change about her highly-successful Wonder Woman debut. It seems she laments that the pacing of the film necessitated the removal of several smaller moments that would have further established the film's many, colorful characters.
"If I had my druthers, the movie would be longer with little tiny jokes and moments that were hard to lose. Particularly because the great thing about these actors is you have such talented funny capable people, so that was already great material for them to work from and then they all just like every mess around would be delightful. So it’s really hard to cut a movie like that down, and so just that sort of stuff, [the] details."
Wonder Woman arrives on digital streaming platforms on August 29. Physical DVD and blu-ray copies hit retailer shelves on September 19.
