Earlier today the Illawarra Mercury had spoken with with a member of the Wollondilly Shire Council that confirmed The Wolverine would be filming at an old hardware shop and Wollondilly Shire Hall. Streets will be shutdown beginning at noon on Thursday til 6am Saturday. The spokeswoman did not provide any details.

Southern Highland News is relaying news from Wollondilly Advertiser's reporter Michael Cox who has learned that snow is being trucked in to the town and will be scattered upon rooftops and roads. The set will be made to resemble snow covered Alaska.

I've been told by my source that Hugh Jackman will be filming scenes in which his character, Logan, heads into a small Alaskan town and purchases goods from a store that sells camping gear. Logan will also have scenes that take place in the front and back of a local bar.

I also did some digging and came across this message on the Wollondilly Library's facebook page.
Finally! A literary character is coming to Picton, Wolverine no less…Oh who am I kidding, Hugh Jackman is coming to Picton!!! Scenes from ‘The Wolverine’ film are being shot right here in front of the Library building from the 2nd to 4th August. We are expecting that the urge to visit the library will be HUGH.

The Wolverine will be directed by James Mangold (Knight and Day), from a script written by Christopher McQuarrie.. The cast includes: Hugh Jackamn (Logan/Wolverine), Svetlana Khodchenkova (Viper), Hiroyuki Sanada (Shingen), Hal Yamanouchi (Yashida), Tao Okamoto (Mariko), Rila Fukushima (Yukio), Brian Tee (Norubo Mori), and Will Yun Lee (Kenuichio Harada/Silver Samurai). The film will claw into theaters July 26, 2013.

I wouldn't brag about Hugh Jackman coming to my town...if anything I would try to convince him not to come. Lol

Yea dude, Jackman was a good Wolverine, but it's played out...I think the first 15 in XOW was great, but he's been the guy for 4 movies...I'm actually over all of the XMen stuff from the original trilogy...I'd rather a new Wolverind be introduced through First Class...and the guy I'd get to play him would be: Mitch Conner

Lmao @Hugh Wolverine haters. Lets see you become Wolverine with the hair, muscles and grin. He [frick]ing owns.

So what if he isn't a stumpy midget with a spandex suit? He looks silly in spandex, besides he is hairy what else do you want? He at least wears a suit here:

Bitches keep crying, see if you can get a better Wolverine that that.

Yawn... So this Wolverine has a healing factor... But no anti-aging factor.

@jj2112 exactly...this is a character that doesn't age, so why does he look 10 years older as we move further back into history? There are a lot of characters that don't have to be portrayed with that in mind, but Wolvie is one of those that is singled out for that power...

Maybe the beginning of the mini-series, when he has to take down the wounded grizzly, and then goes after the hunter that left it wounded?

Len Wein, co-creator of Wolverine, said: "When I got my first glimpse of Hugh Jackman as Wolverine, my breath caught. In that single instant, he was Wolverine."
Who presume to know this character better than his creator? Just a jerk pan a movie never seen because even finished shooting, literally not-out-yet and stop to blame Jackman if a movie does not work, he's the only good thing about X-Men movies. In fact the only thing people remember about First Class, is... his cameo.

It's James Mangold's Wolverine not Hugh Jackman's.

R-tard.

Blame Fox not Jackman.

Obviously besides all the CBM geeks the movie going public likes him as wolverine enough to keep The franchise going and these are the same people who grew up watching him on cartoons that don't have the same look or feel to the comics, a lot of his fans probably never opened a comic, but remember him from cartoons and obviously the first one performed well enough to justify the sequel. Face it if CBM's relied on the geeks alone none would ever have sequals and the genre would probably be dead. The cartoons kids grew up watching is what have made these movies so successful.

I think Jackman is the right guy for Wolvie right now. He has a love for the charactor and as was said above, was the best part of every X-Men movie to date (including First Ass). The only thing holding Wolverine back from total awesomeness has been the behind the camera folk, not Jackman. Hope this one is a redeemer for the last three lackluster (if not outright sucky) X-Men movie entries.

There are two kinds of people in this world: those who know Fox can't make comic book movies worth a damn and those who are in denial about it.

This movie might just turn out good. I'll remain optimistic about it.

Hugh Jackman talked about wanting to do the Japan storyline for years, glad it's finally happening.

Dudes, just having fun making jokes...obviously I want any CBM to be epic...I think that XOW was decent...I'm just kind of tired of Jackman playing him...but if he nails it no one would be happier...than Mitch Conner

Dear Hollywood - Logan was born in the tiny island nation of Canada. Wolverine was a weapon created by a joint US/Canadian team in that same country. Canada. It has wilderness, too. Remember X-Men 1? Rogue met Logan in Ca-na-da. Origins? Ringing any bells for ya? If you're going to film in an entirely different hemisphere, then calling the General Store Alaskan or Canadian is pretty much just changing the writing on the screen that opens that scene.
Oh well, at least he's not shown with an Aussie accent, like in the Spider-Man cartoon of the 80's.

So we got a decent director and mediocre screenplay writers, sounds familiar. Until I see some actual scenes I'm betting this will be another watered down plot with one dimensional characters and plot holes.
