DEADPOOL 2 Actor Lewis Tan Is Confident That Shatterstar Will Return For The X-FORCE Movie

Despite Shatterstar meeting a messy end in Deadpool 2, actor Lewis Tan (Iron Fist) seems confident that the character will return for the upcoming X-Force movie. Find out what he had to say after the jump.

Deadpool 2 did introduce the members of X-Force, but by the end of the movie most of us assumed we'd be meeting a new team for Drew Goddard's planned X-Force movie!

Zeitgeist, Bedlam, Shatterstar, Vanisher and poor ol' Peter all meet their makers in one of the sequel's funniest sequences, and even though The Merc with a Mouth does go back in time to save his "Sugar Bear" in the mid-credits scene, we kinda figured the others were going to be one-hit wonders.

Not according to Lewis Tan.

During an interview with SyFy Wire, the Iron Fist actor suggests that Wade actually saved the entire team, and that his character, Shatterstar, would return for X-Force.

"You’re going to see more of my character in the X-Force film ... that's what it's looking like. Thankfully, Deadpool went back and had a little time machine that he stole, so in the post-credits scene he brought back Peter, and it’s assumed that we’re all going to come back as well."

Assumed, not confirmed - but then there's always a chance Tan knows more and is simply hesitant to reveal anything outright here.

What do you guys think? Would you like to see Shatterstar and the others return, or do you think an all-new X-Force is the way to go? Be sure to leave us a comment in the usual place.

And you used the cover of the new Shatterstar mini as the thumbnail, you get extra points for that, Mark! :P

I assume deadpool saved them off screen, i mean why would he not?

That said, he is kind of a joke version of him, so i would not mind if they made him look a little more badass.

I would rather have the team we saw at the end of Deadpool 2 (DP, Domino, Cable, Colosusus...) wiht Psyloke and Fatomex.

I really want Psylocke because I think they need to add to the power diversiity of the team.

I’m gonna sound like a dick, but I’m gonna power through and say it anyways. I think he’s someone who is very much a fan of what he does and doesn’t necessarily have a realistic grasp of what is happening. I don’t think they’ll bring back Shatterstar, as they’ve confirmed they don’t even have a complete lineup—if they do, then great, but I’m not sure how he thinks he’ll do Shatterstar, Nightwing and Into The Badlands all at once.

@TheMadman - I admire your bravery.

As for Tan. Dude's hustling. And he's gone from uncredited TV stunt roles to named legacy characters in film (granted, it's Fox, where recasts are constant and respect for those legacy characters nonexistent, but still). He's clearly a go-getter and moving his career forward.

And that's all a very different skillset than "being a good actor".

I mean, as long as it's not him playing Shatterstar then cool beans.

With him talking about all these projects he "might" do and "might" be meeting with studios about, he sounds like a background extra who's overly-optimistic about maybe/finally getting one line of dialogue on a tiny, $30 an hour TV soap. "My agent said I'll get to bump into the main character this season, not sure which episode but its def gonna happen!"

@Kurne - I.E. an actor.

There are tons of aspiring actors who would love to have Tan's career right now.

@Spock0Clock - With Tan I made the comparison to that of a background extra, because IMO his talent doesn't go much farther beyond that. He's just not a good actor, and with him talking about all these super important roles he's met with all these important people about can be... something, to listen to.

He just sounds a bit too optimistic from where he's standing, and from my perspective not like that of a young child saying they wanna-- and are gonna be a big movie star someday to their parents.

I will say that his story about his dad coming to America to do Batman and wanting to live up to that was sweet.

Yeah literally every time this guy says anything it sounds like bullshit. Not saying it definitely won't happen, but nothing about the ending suggested Deadpool saved anyone on the team other than Peter.
Don't get me wrong, got nothing against him, he seems very enthusiastic which is always a good thing and hopefully one day he'll get a chance to really shine. But I have a feeling we're not gonna see him as Shatterstar again.

@AC1 - but it's enough to make an article on CBM.com lol, gotta admire the guy for trying to create a buzz for himself. Go-getter.

Well Deadpool did undo the entire movie when he saved Vanessa. So who knows what will carry over from Deadpool 2. Shatterstar was the biggest of all the X-Force characters and the one with the largest angry fan base for killing him off. I’d definitely be okay with him coming back!

@Cyclone1993 - If the entire movie was undone by saving Vanessa why and how did he still save Peter after that?

Hopefully because Shatterstar is an amazing character and X-Force without him feels wrong.
