"It's a prequel," Lawrence told MTV News in a recent interview. "It's set in the 1960s, it's with James McAvoy and Michael Fassbender, some of my favorite actors. I love those guys!"

"I mean, what else do you want to know," she said when quizzed about whether Mystique gets up to any of her infamous comic book antics. "I don't know if I'm allowed to say!"

"Yeah, it would be great to get back with the same people, because I love the cast," the actress added when asked about whether she'd consider returning for a sequel. "The paint, I'm going to need a little bit of time before I'll miss it. But the cast, definitely."

X-Men: First Class is set to be released on June 3, later this year!

How the hell did this become controversial, just because the majority of us fan boys don't like the idea of this movie does not make it controversial.

Lets see how long it takes for the haters to flood the comments area. The films cast is very promising IMO so I'm reserving judgement for when I see it.

jennifer lawrence is a good actress, but this film is going to be so shit because its not being made the way i would like to see = original five against magneto or don't bother.

Nice find Josh, not really looking forward to do this movie, but Vaughn's a good director, so I doubt it'll be too shit...

I think this will be good. Not a faithful adaptation but a good movie.

@Frogman: agree. Haters gonna hate. Without reasons because the cast is superb, Matthew Vaughn is a wonderful director (Kick-Ass, Stardust not that f***g movie with Jackie Chan...)and the screenwriters are fantastic (Jamie Moss, Zack Stentz, Ashley Miller, Jane Goldman).

But i think this is a stupid trend launched by this site. Because when you're going on the other boards the fans and users still waiting for a trailer to judge...

She is hot but not nearly as hot as the former Mrs. Stamos. I am not going to rule this movie out until I see it. James McAvoy is a great actor and I'm optimistic that this movie will be better than all of Marvel's movies outside of Avenger related movies and the first two Blade movies.

@marvel72: It's not going to be good because it's not being made the way YOU like to see? I hope you realize YOU do not represent the majority of moviegoing audiences/ fans such as myself, who are happy to have a good director back onboard the X-men franchise.

Thanks guys! :)

ROR: Lol, even I'm bored of hating on this movie. Although that recent trailer description was apparently bogus, I'm still a little intrigued by the other recent spoilers we've heard! Vaughn and cast memebers like Fassbender and Lawrence also give me a little faith, but the Fox logo and major differences from the comic still make it hard for me to care!

after two shit x-related movies fox had a chance of saving the franchise by rebooting it,wiping the slate clean.

how about giving something back to the fans by actually getting something right for a change, you cannot call a movie "x-men first class" & not have the original five in it.

this why everyone who wants the rights back at marvel so we get an "x-men" film based on the comics not some lame ass version.

fox saw how popular the comics are & brought the rights, its us comic fans that made it popular & made fox to decide "we're make a film version" so yeah i can say what i like about the movie.

we've had five "x-men" related films & only one good,i'm not just gonna settle for any old shit.

All I will say that you cannot have a VALID opinion on the movie until you have SEEN it. After that you can hate or love it.

We all know this is going to be one of the worst adaptions of comic book but if you expected a faithful adaption from fox then your not thinking straight. None of there X-Men movie have been 100% accurate, even then the first two movie were enjoyable flawed yes but enjoyable FILMS, X3 and XOW were bad FILMS and adaption. The talent involved with this movie will at least make this a decent movie maybe not a great adaption but enjoyable movie. Oh by the way Prof X is American, I didn't hear any sort of fan boy out rage when Sir Patrick was cast as him, who did nothing to hide his accent either, where were you purists then.

Obviously one day every one want's to see X-Men back in Marvel, but Marvel are not doing any thing what so ever.

So Fox called it First Class, people need to get over it. I don't expect adaptations to be exactly in line with the comics, the movieverse after all is a completely separate medium, accept that people. Iron Man and Iron Man 2 weren't completely faithful to the comics yet they get a lot of hype, very few comic book movies are.

If Fox had called it something like X-Men Origins rather than First Class then thats half of the haters' "reasoning" destroyed already. It is just a title!

@Orphix: more like the haters aren't commenting yet.

Devil89 - 1/13/2011, 10:32 AM
@Marvel72: you and a few users still say this will be shit only because there is not the movie you want to see. So, go, buy the rights and make you a movie about X-Men if you don't like it. Simple.

Like Frogman said the movieverse is different from the universe of comics. Iron Man and Iron Man 2 are not faithful (Tony is not a douchebag like Downey Jr. portrait it, the villains are poorly based on, they changed too much), but are good movies. The incredible Hulk wasn't faithful but good anyway. The Punisher is too much distant from comics by tone and characters but a good movie.

The X-movies are distant from the comics, from the beginning (X-Men 1) but are good adaptation. The worst was X-men: Last Stand (but because the script is bad-written and they put into movie 300 characters together without a reason). Wolverine was a little better (but there are the same issues of Last Stand).

I have faith in Matthew Vaugh, Singer, the cast and the crew. There aren't the original five? And well? If i want the original five i'd go and read again the comics. If i want a good movie about X-men i will see First Class.

Bah hater gonna hate but this is boring.

Marvel- yet you accept ironman and hulk and spiderman and batman but just like devil said they are all not even close to the comic only a little bit, which this makes you a hypocrite. Only because fox made two not so really good movie of x-men dosen't mean this one is going to suck and marvel first hulk sucked, and then spiderman sucked to ya which is produce by marvel and also punished warzone sucked to ya which make marvel having the most bad Cbm and foxs only 2, and dude done judge a book by it's cover.

This has great potential. One of few problems I have is the new characters added. Why they exist, I don't know, but I would've rathered had more familiar faces then new. I was really hoping for Angel, Iceman, Jean and Cyclops. I love those characters, and yet they're missing. I'll live though.
Frogman
Frogman - 1/14/2011, 3:28 AM
Thing is Angel, Iceman, Jean and Cyclops weren't born in the 60s.... they decided on the story and putting in those 4 characters wouldn't be logical. Plus in Earth-10005 Iceman isn't an original x-man (he is a student in X1) and Angel doesn't join the team until the third X-Men (and i'm not entirely sure he even joins the team then) So no matter how much people complain about continuity Fox are trying to keep some...
