Matt Damon Talks More About The Rumored Bourne 4!!

The actor who plays Jason Bourne has told Empire he knows practically nothing about the proposed Tony Gilroy-directed fourth film, and seems pretty bitter about not being kept in the loop!

Empire managed to sit down and talk with Matt Damon about (among other things) a fourth Bourne movie.

On whether he'd be returning to the franchise:

I read online that they're doing another Jason Bourne movie with Tony Gilroy directing that I'm not in. No-one told me, literally nobody called me. People think I have insider information, but you get a sense of where I am in the pecking order!

On what would make him do a fourth:

I'd do it with Paul [Greengrass]. Universal don't actually own the Bourne character - the estate [of Robert Ludlum] does - so technically I could go to Warner Bros...and Universal could read about it online.

The Bourne Legacy is sill expected to hit theaters 17th August 2012... although exactly how that will play out without Damon's involvement is unclear.

Leave it a 3! It was a great trilogy and should stay that way, a trilogy!

anyway, there is no way it would work without Damon and Greengrass!

Still I suppose its better they do a fourth than a TV series, so we've got that and DAMON!

(They better, can't make it without him)

Although I really liked this trilogy, I was starting to get bored with it by the end. Kind of beating a dead horse if you ask me.

One thing about Matt is that he does have star power, and could get another Bourne movie made whenever he wanted if he wanted. Another movie without him in it is f**king rubbish!!!

What if they did a prequel focusing on the story of the real Jason Bourne? Not David Webb, but the guy Webb took the name from in the novels.

I would love to see another one. The books are so different than the movies, but they did a good job with the movies. Ludlum only wrote the 1st 3 books. Eric Lustbader wrote the last 5, with the 6th (9th in the series) coming out this year. Actually, as much as I loved the 1st 3 books, the 4th book by Lustabader was my favorite. The Bourne Legacy was awesome. They could make a 4th just like that book without the continuity from the 1st 3 books. It could easily switch to the 3 movies. I would love to have Matt Damon back as Bourne though. He did a great job.

Why is a fourth Bourne film necessary? They wrapped up everything quite nicely in the third film. As much as I enjoy those three films, I don't want to see a fourth one, ESPECIALLY with no Matt Damon!

OH MY LORD ! If they make another one it HAS to be with MATT DAMON. There is no other Bourne. They will ruin the movie without him. I would love to see another one follow-up to the last one. BUT WITH DAMON - NO ONE ELSE.

It was a good movie and a good send-off for Jackman, but it was, by no means, a great movie. But it was good.

I thought it was good but not great. Wish it stuck closer to source material. I realize that would've been hard due to the characters in old man Logan but there were other aspects of the comics that wouldn't have been so hard to lift. Didn't like how he died. Would've preferred he was encased in Adamantium. Didn't love x24. Didn't understand why he didn't have the muttonchops til the end. Liked the acting and the serious tone of the film. Liked the action sequences, the gore and the obscenities. The R rating was the right way to go. Definitely ready for a more comic accurate reboot of the character IN COSTUME.
