Sly Stallone Confirms Harrison Ford's Role In THE EXPENDABLES 3; Bruce Willis Won't Return

The Expendables 3 star Sylvester Stallone has confirmed on his Twitter account that Star Wars and Indiana Jones star Harrison Ford is officially on board the action threequel. However, he also reveals that Bruce Willis is not returning after featuring in the first two movies.

Casting is underway for the next installment in The Expendables action ensemble series. It was reported earlier this year that Nicolas Cage, Milla Jovovich, Jackie Chan, Kellan Lutz and Wesley Snipes were all in negotiations for roles in the threequel, with franchise regulars such as Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Jet Li, Dolph Lundgren and more also on board. However, Cage recently denied that he was ever in talks for a role in the movie. Mel Gibson is also reportedly set to play the villain, while Steven Seagal is attached.

Now, Stallone (who also wrote the film's screenplay) has confirmed via Twitter that The Expendables 3 has landed another impressive addition: Harrison Ford. Best known for his roles as Han Solo in the original Star Wars trilogy and the titular character in Indiana Jones, the actor will next be seen in August 16th's Paranoia and November 1st's Ender's Game. However, Stallone also says that Bruce Willis - who plays 'Church' in the first two movies - will not be reprising the role for the next film. What do you think of this news? The Expendables 3 is set to hit theaters August 15th, 2014.

The Expendables was extremely misleading in its trailers. I though Chuck Nortis was actuslly going to have a role instead if a cameo. I hope Ford actually has one.

Eh.. yeah. I won't be on this one. It is a shame but they really didn't had a part that could fit with what I was looking for.

Definitely a shot at Willis. I love it, but also because of the irony in that tweet.

The thing I hated about E2 was how people just randomly showed up. I hated it in the mine when Lundgren was about to free everyone and Schwarzenegger just shows up and saves everyone instead. Seemed like it was a disservice to Lundgren and his character and kind of took you out of the movie.

I hope we get a scene much like Greedo/Han shot first. I hope he just takes them out in cold blood. Clint Eastwood should have a cameo in this as well, like Chuck Norris did, and using a bulletproof vest as well.

Stallone calling Bruce lazy and greedy? Sly, what could be lazier than doing the same shit that made you big as Arnold thirty years after you got too old for it, and just so you can make money, you scrounge up every old as dirt action star you can find? You define lazy and greedy, sir.

Sylvester Stallone says Bruce Willis is greedy and lazy it's funny because Kevin Smith and Tracy Morgan said the exact same thing...hmmm

I just LOVE how everyone's raggin on Bruce, like they completely forgot about Harrison Ford.

I'm willing to bet Harrison Ford is just as lazy, just as short-tempered, and just as expectant as Bruce Willis is.

And you know what? I love em both.

The big question is why is Harrison Ford lowering himself down to being in this Stallone garbage?

Ford was doing great films while Stallone was doing Cobra, Stop Or My Mom Will Shoot, Judge Dredd, Demolition Man.

Did Ford not invest his money? Is he broke??

If Ford has money still he needs to retire as an actor. All the 80's guys need to retire.

This is the 1st time in Hollywood history a generation of stars won't go away. They wont leave.
Others passed the torch to them and now to get the torch we have to pry it from their cold, dead hands.

Awww don't be hurt. Simple fact Stallone needs to remember...outside of Rocky and Rambo, he's had little if any success. Willis has had far greater success and a much better career than Stallone. And to top it all, Willis can actually act when the role requires it...Stallone can not. And no, Rocky doesn't count, Stallone as Rocky is just Stallone being Stallone.

@yingyangpalms I like Willis but Stallone has actually had Oscar Nominations. Rocky was nominated for ten Academy Awards, including Best Actor and Best Original Screenplay nominations for Stallone. The film went on to win the Academy Awards for Best Picture, Best Directing and Best Film Editing. Willis has nothing like that.

And yh Willis probably wanted to be the star or something...since his last Die Hard movies have been...well,shitty.

Sad but if sly got a sequel to dredd it prob would have sucked n made more than urbans dredd. Which excuse me from term retarded. Guess Willis is just like his movies these days just don't give a shit. One of my faves too he was better with a receding hair line anyways

Wow Stallone taking a shot at Willis really? LOL damn I mean don't get me wrong Willis has thrown in some turkeys but it's still nothing compared to some of the Garbage Stallone has done. But look I liked Ex 1 & 2 but no way in the world I would call them good movies. You truly have to look at them as action comedies plain & simple.
