Following Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation's impressive debut, star Tom Cruise is on a sequel rampage with Paramount already more or less confirming a Mission: Impossible 6 and rumors of a potential Edge Of Tomorrow sequel floating around as well.

However, before he gets started on those, he first has a sequel to Jack Reacher to knock out of the park. Paramount was initially reluctant to greenlight a sequel to the 2011 film, but due to Cruise's international appeal helping the film to a worldwide collection of over $218M and strong home video sales of over $23M, the studio decided to go ahead with the sequel.

In mid-May, we learned that Ed Zwick (The Last Samurai) would reunite with Cruise and direct the film. Now, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed that the sequel, which will adapt one of Lee Child's more recent Reacher novels, Never Go Back, will kick off production this November. Additionally, THR has revealed that Paramount intends to release the film in late 2016, which would mean it would arrive ahead of Universal's drug thriller Mena, which is another team-up between Cruise & Doug Liman and is already set for a January 2017 release.

What do you guys think of this latest development? Who would you want to see join the cast? Sound off with your thoughts below!
