PREVIEW: "Young Justice Invasion" Will Be Season 2

Pictured in this article is the promotional poster for "Young Justice: Invasion", the working title for the Second Season of the animated television show, Young Justice. "Young Justice: Invasion" will be a 20-episode season long story that will start airing in late 2012, after the first season concludes with the airing of its 26th episode.

According to Brandon Vietti, writer and executive producer on the show, "Young Justice: Invasion" will be a 20-episode "novel" that follows the Team as the combat an alien invasion of Earth. While the core members of Aqualad, Superboy, Robin, Kid Flash, and Miss Martian are confirmed, other supporting characters are still a mystery.

Vietti also mentioned that there will be only 3 directors used in this season to help maintain the tightly knit storyline. If rumor proves true, this second season will have a "24" like feel as it will be told if not in real time, then in the course of a couple of days in the show's time, but will take months in ours unfortunately haha.

It seems that "Young Justice" has truly been earning its strips as far as popularity goes. While the show itself gets consistently high ratings, and already being confirmed for a second season, there are toys, statues, and even a video game in the works for the series. It seems that Young Justice is really coming into it's own.

So what do you guys think? How do you feel about the season long plot/story being told in "real time", telling of a season long invasion that will only be days to The Team? What do you think of how tightly knit they are planning to keep the season storylines and director choices? Are you excited to see something that no other cartoon has really ever done?

well the show already sucks, so they must be able to improve it at some point.

none of the people on the poster look like Superboy. me thinks he is either the traitor or dies at the end of Season 1.

i use to watch this show all the time, but now i can't be arsed with it.

it'll never be as good as.....

-batman the animated series
-justice league unlimited
-hbo spawn the animated series
-spider-man (90s)
-x-men (90s)

the avengers earths mightiest heroes has better storylines i.e kang & ultron were good.

@RunDTC, the poster doesn't represent who will be appearing in the second season.Greg Weisman confirmed it was just a mockup for promotional purposes.

@ComicCritic87, this may be what EMH is doing for season 2, but Young Justice officially announced their invasion first.

While we saw Viper was actually a Skrull at the end of Widow's Sting, we didn't know there was going to be an invasion until the season finale in June 2011.

Cartoon Network announced Young Justice had been renewed for a 2nd season in February 2011 and it would be an invasion storyline.

@FAtypeofguy: I have to have arguments for my opinion? OK, fine.

the good:
-the voice work for the Justice League characters, Kid Flash, and Aqualad.
-the animation

the bad:
-the voice work for the rest of the junior league and the villains.
-the story. rather uninteresting.
-Miss Martian
-boring team line-up.

@RunDTC agree with the good ones as fot the bad ones -Nolan North does a very good job at voicing superman and superboy the rest is just average
-this is an origin kind of story so they needed to establish the characters and the relationship between them so there is not much u can do there....
-miss martian seems useless but her characters works as a link to superboy and the rest of the team
-this is not teem titans and they are trying to be a little more grounded about this show but the line up is fine in my opinion...
i respect your opinion but i can't stand comments like without a reason.....

@ pux

i've given it a chance some episodes were good but with its on/off tv relationship i've lost intrest in it.

why should i give new stuff a chance when its not as good? i've seen enough episodes to make up my mind.

i'll give season 2 a shot but season 1 has been disapointing.

I absolutely love this show and Avengers EMH (its on Netflix for those who did not know), but I'm mad both are taking so long to premiere.

I don't understand how someone can say that the scenario of "Young Justice" is poor. I think it's one of the very few animated show with teenagers (or even without) with a strong psychological development of the characters. Personnaly, I'm amazed that they dared approach some subjects : the crushing desire of Superboy to have a relationship with Superman; the despair he felt after the episode where he tought everyone was dead because he had the possibility to touch the fabric of what he wanted to be : Superman; the despair of Megan to let anyone see what she realy look.
Justice had strong storytelling but, sometime, I feel that "Young Justice" goes further (even thought I'm a still a huge fan of "Justice League").
Sorry for my english, I'm a French-Canadian. ;-)
