The very first poster for Scott Stewart's "Priest" adaptation has surfaced...

There has been some confusion as to which comic property this movie is based. We were first informed that it's based on a TokyoPop comic and is described as a horror/Western... It was then pointed out that that particular comic bears little resemblance to the official plot synopsis which is:

"In a world ravaged by centuries of war between man and vampire, a warrior priest turns against the church to track down a murderous band of vampires who have kidnapped his niece."

I guess we will find out soon enough! "Priest" stars Paul Bettany and is directed by Scott Stewart. And its due to theaters on August 13th, 2010.

ROR @ Me too man, this PREACHER movie seems like forever, don't want 'em to rush it but PREACHERS takin' the pi$$! Same goes with SANDMAN and DEATH. All would make great movies if done right!

I also believe THE BOOKS OF MAGIC movie is still dead? Damn HARRY POTTER! : D

Wow it seems like this guy is really getting around.Paul Bettany is also going to be staring in another comic type movie called Legion. It has almost the same plot, but instead of vampires and humans its angels and demons, oh and shit check this out! Its also going to be directed by Scott Stewart. Looks like the idea box is running low for new original movies...

Yohon@ that is kinda wierd. But they could both be good. The legion one looks a little better though.

I don't mind vampire movies. Just the whiny teenager ones.

Vampire movies usually blow. I dont know though, it might be good. I'm not liking this whole Vampire frenzy thats been plagueing the T.V. and theater lately. I do watch True Blood though. It has enough intresting characters that take it away from the vampire thing. Cant get in to Twilight (its really gay) and half this other crap on DVD too. So far LET THE RIGHT ONE IN is the best Vampire movie I've ever seen. My wife is a big time Vampire movie watcher (thank god she hated Twilight) so believe me, I've seen them all.

Its official this is not the movie from Tokyo Pop but a earlier comic about vampires, at some point Hollywood will come out with the actual news on the movie, and for all you Preacher fans out there it is in production with none other then James (Cyclops) Marsden playing the lead. It is on super hush hush right now and will likely come out in 2011.
