Blue Jasmine actor Bobby Cannavale recently spoke with Esquire to discuss his upcoming film Danny Collins. During the interview the actor revealed some new details on his role in Peyton Reed's Ant-Man.

"Judy Greer is in it and she plays my wife," Bobby Cannavale revealed in the interview. Cannnavale also reveals that as the husband of Scott Lang's ex-wife, Maggie, he and Paul Rudd share "a lot of scenes together."

"You know, look, I'm not playing the guy in the suit," Cannavale said when asked how it felt to be a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The actor then elaborated on why there was a lack of pressure, and discusses how it felt to be a part of Ant-Man "So I don't have that kind of pressure. But if you know Paul, you know he's a pretty down-to-earth guy. I have to say, the whole thing, for as big as it was, felt like an indie film. With the exception of all the blue screen and the ridiculous suit that he's in. And the fact that I've got to look at something that's not there and react to something like an explosion when there's no explosion. Aside from that, the actual scenes themselves were really fun and funny and we improvised a lot. It almost felt like an Adam McKay film. Since Guardians of the Galaxy, I think Marvel's sort of taken a different approach to their films and have injected them with a lot of levity. It's a great choice to have Paul play that role, sort of in the same vein as having Chris Pratt do Guardians. It still has the totemic idea of the hero, but the sense of humor is what's different in comparison to something like Thor."

The Boardwalk Empire actor also adds that while his character was in Edgar Wright's  version of the script, his role was beefed up in the rewrites following Wright's departure. "They sort of pumped the part up a bit in the new version and they both called me and said, 'You've got to do this.'"

The next evolution of the Marvel Cinematic Universe brings a founding member of The Avengers to the big screen for the first time with Marvel Studios’ “Ant-Man.” Armed with the astonishing ability to shrink in scale but increase in strength, master thief Scott Lang must embrace his inner-hero and help his mentor, Dr. Hank Pym, protect the secret behind his spectacular Ant-Man suit from a new generation of towering threats. Against seemingly insurmountable obstacles, Pym and Lang must plan and pull off a heist that will save the world.

Marvel’s “Ant-Man” stars Paul Rudd as Scott Lang aka Ant-Man, Evangeline Lilly as Hope Van Dyne, Corey Stoll as Darren Cross aka Yellowjacket, Bobby Cannavale as Paxton, Michael Peña as Luis, Judy Greer as Maggie, Tip “Ti” Harris as Dave, David Dastmalchian as Kurt, Wood Harris as Gale, Jordi Mollà as Castillo and Michael Douglas as Hank Pym. Directed by Peyton Reed and produced by Kevin Feige, Marvel’s “Ant-Man” delivers a high-stakes, tension-filled adventure on July 17, 2015.

He seemed to have the most concrete description of the tone I'd seen yet until he talked about Thor. Has no actor in this film actually seen Thor?

I'm also getting a kind of IM3 vibe and since it's my favorite in the franchise that's a great thing! I feel like it will be more focused on characters and their interaction and development which is one of the things that made IM3 such a good movie. This will supposedly be Marvel's most personal movie and that's sonetging I'm looking forward to.

Wonder if he's playing the role Patrick Wilson was supposed to have?
Anyone know?

@SuperheroFan96

Just FYI his upcoming movie is called 'Danny Collins' not Bobby Collins.

@TheAmbassador

Several people have also referred to the first Iron Man as a big budget indie film. Like Jon Favreau and Jeff Bridges. Don't know if that helps or not.

@CherryBomb I'm pretty sure Wilson was supposed to be young Hank Pym so he's not a replacement

Have you lost your mind? The Brewers? The Buccos might not win the WS, but they should make the playoffs at least.

And the Padres will find a way to [frick] it up. They always do.

@BlackestKnight

Was he? I think that was just pure speculation, did anyone report he was young Hank? I wished he was but I'm not sure anyone has been named as replacing Wilson's role

Good questions, not sure, can't wait though.... Maybe we'll have a new Ant-Man suit by the end of the movie, which would be awesome.... But, I love the idea of the older Ant-Man suit and everything vs Yellowjacket, can't wait
