Marvel sure does love to shoot its films in London. The casting call reports tht Avi Arad's Arad Productions along with Edgar Wright's Big Talk Productions are currently in the pre-production stages of the "highly anticipated Marvel Studios action adventure sci-fi thriller feature film 'Ant-Man'". Filming is reportedly scheduled to start January 2013 for a November 6, 2015 release date. I can only speculate that the the early start is to allow Edgar Wright ample time to perfect a tricky character as well as allow the VFX team to nail-down the growing/shrinking visuals. The project will shoot at Pinewood Studios in England, and other locations around London and the United Kingdom.

Hopefully we get some news on which Ant-Man under the helmet and who will be portraying him soon. I have to counsel that you guys should remain skeptical, at least until we start hearing some casting news! Speaking of which, do you guys want Pym or Lang?

Hmm seems a bit early which is good meaning the film will not be rushed at all. Wonder if this means cast members will be revealed soon too

Before CAFTA started filming, they grabbed Chris Evans about two months early. My guyt says they have grabbed someone already for the part, maybe Martin Freeman seeing as he is also working "At The World's End" and Edgar likes to use his guys a couple times over.

And holy crap, it says that Pym and Lang meet sometimes after the events of the movie, meaning both exist at the same time, Yellow Jacket perhaps or a Pym that can go toe-to toe with Stark for intelligence?

This is great news! We should be getting casting news soon and before we know it we'll get some set pics. I would be happy with a simple description, and I want it confirmed that Hank Pym will be in the movie, at least wearing the suit FIRST. I would love to see Pym and Wasp and lead into Ultron tearing up the Marvel Universe.

I think they started early so they can get the visuals right for a potential Ant-man in Avengers 2.

start with Pym! Gives room for more characters later down the track. Man I wish Fillion was up for any of these Marvel roles, but I doubt it will happen seeing as he's pretty locked down with Castle

Good to hear! Wright is one of my all time top 5 filmmakers and such a great fit for this film! Glad they're at Pinewood, too. From Asylum to Spaced and Shaun to Scott; he's never let me down.

Scott Pilgrim was one of the worst movie I have watched I didn't like it at all It wasn't funny at all. I believe that Edgar is good director and the right fit for ant man movie

@Nomis

Good question. How young are they planning on going with Lang?

As far as Pym, someone suggested Adam Scott(as oppose to the usual Fillion)and that is so inspired, I could actually see it working. Tudyk is another good suggestion.

@Valandil Arad served as producer on Iron Man and TIH. Ant-Man was originally going to be released in that initial wave.

It could also be that whichever lead actor they have targeted has this window to film Ant-Man. Maybe he's busy for an extended period after that.

Say...Jon Hamm... (even though I like Hamm for Peter Quill)

80sFace - 10/22/2012, 10:37 AM
@soberchimera, besides the Ultron arc, there's also -- and I know this sounds ridiculous but it's actually very cool -- SWARM. It's a hive-like formation of bees that gains super intelligence and (of course) has some issues with humanity. Considering climate change, mass extinctions occurring now and hive collapse that's been happening the last 5+ years, it's timely. Fits perfectly for Ant-Man.
