ANT-MAN Confusion Cleared Up; Now Evangeline Lilly Is Back To 'Hope Van Dyne'

It was 'Hope Van Dyne' during Ant-Man's panel at this weekend's San Diego Comic-Con, and then 'Hope Pym' (the same name as an MC2 villain) in an official press release. Well, Marvel Studios have now confirmed that Evangeline Lilly WILL be playing 'Hope Van Dyne" in the movie...

The cast of Ant-Man claim to have not read the script, so if the finishing touches are still being made, perhaps that's why there's been so much confusion over Evangeline Lilly's role in the movie. Those lucky enough to be at Marvel's panel on Saturday said that she was announced as Hope Van Dyne, but an official press release (which you can read by clicking here) stated otherwise. In fact, the reveal that she would be called Hope Pym, led many of us to believe that Ant-Man would be following the MC2 Universe where Hank and Janet do have a daughter of that name. She ultimately becomes the villainous Red Queen after the death of her parents. However, as you can see below, it has now been 100% confirmed that Evangeline Lilly is Hope Van Dyne, and the original press release from Marvel.com has also been updated to reflect that. Of course, now that Janet Van Dyne's fate has been revealed, we all want to know whether Lilly will be suiting up as The Wasp!

Confusion abounds. Everywhere.

Last week I was really busy at work. I was minding my business and putting together a briefing and all, when this woman came into my office and just started talking. She seemed to even start in mid-sentence like we were in a conversation and she cut me off from what I was saying.

So I sat there looking at this woman blither on and I stared wondering what her actual job was. I don't know what she does. I know she is employed here because she shows up every single day. Seemingly, her job description is to try to guilt me into buying retarded shit her stupid kids are selling for girl scouts or hockey or whatever the [frick].

She finished saying whatever she was on about and left. I didn't say a word. I have no idea what she said and she couldn't possibly have felt satisfied from the event. If she needed an answer, she didn't get one.

So I was leaving that night and I was checking my texts and she says, "thanks for the talk." I was confused as shit.

It's probably both. Maybe her relationship with her father is strained and that's why she goes by van dyne. It doesn't matter, shes the daughter of Hank pym. Even during the panel they called her by both names.

It was right the first time, people just got confused by the multiple reporting errors being made during alot of live streams.

Douglas called her van Dyne from the jump. It makes even more sense now because he said they were estranged. Hope took Janet's last name.

Well, Michael Douglas did say that Hope is alienated from him(Hank)in the movie. So, Hope obviously hates Hank because of what happened to her mother. She probably blames him for her death and uses "Van Dyne" in memory of her mother. Her birth name is "Pym"..

This is the "Marvel Cinematic Universe."
Not 616, not Ultimate, not Marvel Now. Things are bound to be different. Nobody lost it when Marvel announced Tony Stark was making Ultron. I don't see the problem now.

They'll change it again and figure it all out by the time filming starts. Cause Kevin was the first one to say "sorry, it's Pym", which started the whole confusing (considering Van Dyne was weird from the start).
