Evangeline Lilly who portrayed Tauriel in the Hobbit trilogy and will portray Hope Van Dyne in Marvel’s Ant-man in 2015, spoke on what she presumed when going into Marvel Studios and how she thought she was just going to be taking orders like a soldier. I presumed, when I went into the gig, that I would be sort of a pawn, a cog in the wheel -- I would just be a soldier getting my orders and doing what I had to do because Marvel is such a well established brand that they don’t actually have to pander to actors' creative whims.” She then added, “They can do whatever they want, at this point, they’re kind of kings of the superhero universe.”

She then told how she was very surprised that Marvel actually wanted her to give her input on Hope van Dyne, and how she helped shape the character. “So for me, I was extremely surprised when I started working and they not only accepted me, but invited my input into the character. They really allowed me to have a hand in shaping Hope Van Dyne.”

She then tells how she was “spoiled” with experience and collaboration after working with Peter Jackson’s Hobbit films and now Marvel with Ant-man and the rest of the cinematic universe. “Peter had sort of spoiled me with my experience on “The Hobbit” with that kind of level of collaboration, and then Marvel came along and did it again and gave me that kind of creative leverage and freedom. So I can’t speak more highly of my experience with Marvel.” I know I’m looking forward to see Evangeline Lilly take on the role as Hope Van Dyne, are you excited? Sound off below with your thoughts!

She could've been Janet... This is all Edgar's fault.

@ StarYeezus:

How?

@GothamSon

Because Edgar Wright and Joe Cornish wrote the film, hired the cast, and [frick]ed up everything about Ant-Man. Adam McKay came in for some rewrites, but him and Kevin Feige have both stated that they left Wright and Cornish's script largely intact. It is all Edgar's fault.

But, I'm ridiculously happy he's gone. Don't like his brand of films. Looking forward to see what McKay and Feige create out of Wright's mess.

@Crabnado

I could care less about the changes. They don't bother me at all. I was simply explaining to GothamSon what StarYeezus meant by, "it's all Edgar's fault". I also took the opportunity to express my general dislike for Edgar Wright's films, and my excitement that he's no longer attached to the project.

@Crabnado

So instead of apologizing for calling me a fake fan...you decide to try and correct the grammar in a grammatically correct statement?

Wow...

Shall I correct your lack of proper capitalization? Or would that seem childish, petty, and stupid?
