The New York Times has an excellent profile up on
Avengers: Endgame star Paul Rudd, and after talking about what it was like for him to star in that massive superhero ensemble, the publication reached out to Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige. They asked him whether there's a future for
Ant-Man in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and things sounds good...we think!
"The chess pieces were arranged very purposefully after 'Endgame,'" he teased.
"Those that are off the board are off, and those that are still on, you never know."
In other words, Ant-Man is very much still in play, and despite the fact that there's no
Ant-Man and The Wasp sequel in Phase 4, there's still a future for Scott Lang in the MCU (we just don't know what it is). Still, this is definitely a positive update, especially as some fans have expressed concern that his story might have ended after
Avengers: Endgame reunited Scott with his older daughter.
In related news, Rudd was also asked about his role in the upcoming
Ghostbusters reboot/sequel.
"I grew up watching that movie," he said of the original,
"and this happened to be one where it completely works on its own. You don’t want to do it just because it’s part of a larger thing, but there is the added bonus of being part of something that has a real place in culture."
Asked whether he'll be strapping on one of those iconic proton packs, Rudd responded: "It remains to be seen what I strap on. I’m not giving you anything."

Hayley Lovitt
In Ant-Man, we never got to see The Wasp's face or hear her voice. That's because Marvel was obviously waiting to cast the hero for the sequel and they made a stellar choice with Michelle Pfeiffer.
Back in 2015, it was little-known actress Hayley Lovitt who played Janet and while Pfeiffer gets top billing, she actually reprises the role for flashbacks featuring a younger Janet saying goodbye to Hope.
It's nice to see that Marvel chose to bring her back here and she's doing pretty well for herself as she most recently appeared as the living mutant computer Sage in Fox's X-Men TV series The Gifted.
