RUMOR: Here's How SPIDER-MAN And OsCorp Will Factor Into Marvel's ANT-MAN

The new Spider-Man will make his Marvel Cinematic Universe debut in Captain America: Civil War next year, but Ant-Man will apparently be where we first hear about the wall-crawler's existence! This is a rumour for now, but hit the jump for all the latest details...

Edgar Wright's Ant-Man screenplay was subject to a number of rewrites both before and after his departure from the movie, and Latino-Review is reporting that various tweaks were still being made as shooting continued (which is perfectly normal, especially with Marvel Studios based on what we've heard in the past). Here's where things get really exciting/interesting though. Those changes apparently included the first Spider-Man mentions in the Marvel Cinematic Universe!

Spider-Man already exists by the time Ant-Man takes place, and the site says that, "We've heard an unconfirmed rumor there is "lots of" talk of/references to Spider-Man and OsCorp in the current version of Ant-Man." They go on to mention that Darren Cross is attempting to sell the Yellowjacket technology to various corporations, so it's likely there that OsCorp will come into play. Does that mean we're going to get a third version of Norman Osborn? We'll have to wait and see...

How deep into production was Ant-Man after AOU was done with post?

Whedon wanted Spidey in AOU and found out after the film was complete they got Spidey.

I'd say its unlikely this rumor is true.

It's hard for me to get excited about Spider-Man again. For me Marvel is too hit or miss for me to get super hyped.

Iron Man: great
IM2: Meh
Thor: Meh
Cap 1: good not great
Avengers: Great
IM3: bad
Thor tdw: bad
Cap 2: great
Gotg: great mainly because of Pratt.
AOU: meh

When Marvel tries to add too much the movies tend to go off the rails. I expect ant man to be great unless they are shoving too much stuff at us to connect it to the other films.

I have a good feeling about Ant-Man. Paul Rudd has always been a favorite of mine. Not so sure about the route they are taking with Spider-Man though. Too young IMO

These next few years will show us just how much can fit into one movie. The pressure is on WB and Marvel to make this all work. But I'm not going to lie AOU has made me nervous that these films will just be bloated with way too much going on

@RidiculousFanBoyDemands

I agree with everything. I don't know if I can get excited for anything from Marvel. I think I'm excited for Civil War.

Sounds cool if true.

Only slightly off topic now; someone convince me to watch Agent Carter. Like, is it good?
