Stan Lee Briefly Comments On Edgar Wright Leaving ANT-MAN

It was a huge shock to hear Edgar Wright has left Ant-Man considering his passion for the film (he spent nearly a decade working on it after all). Now Stan Lee shared his thoughts on him leaving the project after having met him and getting to him and his vision for the movie.

There have been rumors over who will take over Ant-Man after Marvel shocked us all by announcing Edgar Wright has left the project, but nothing is officially announced quite yet. James Gunn recently talked about his feeling behind it, and Joss Whedon posted a 'cornetto selfie' that is interpreted as a message to Wright, but now Stan Lee has commented while off promoting Marvel’s Avengers S.T.A.T.I.O.N., an interactive exhibit at Discovery Time Square in New York City. "I’m sorry about that. I had lunch with him, I met him, he was so excited about it. That was over a year ago. But they’re still making the movie I understand, and it’ll be a great movie because, again, the special effects you can imagine them – a guy this big crawling around the room, people about to step on him. It’ll be great." Stan Lee has previously praised Wright in the past, and we all should know about the talk he had with Wright not too long ago, so this news must have made him pretty upset indeed. Ant-Man is currently scheduled to be released July 17, 2015, and Marvel said they will not be changing the release date, but at this point we are not positive. Who do you think will be his replacement? Sound off below.

So basically a hollowed out story relying only on Visual Effects to tell the story... great.

Wait...there is outrage about this? Wasn't one of the reasons people were not interested in this was BECAUSE of the director? That's how it seemed. If they make the movie or not...whatever. It's Ant-Man. He will be a fine addition or a fine absence from the MCU because of how the MCU is established.

hashtag some real unimportant shit to get worked up over.

Stan must've forgotten about seeing The Incredible Shrinking Man in the 50's.

Not a lot of people cared about an Ant-Man film when they announced it...now that number has dropped to an all time low.

It really is unfortunate, and the directors lined up for the job are not the directors I would consider to helm an ANT MAN movie but more of a super hero satire. I'll still check it out, but I am worried for the kickstart of Phase three :/

Ant-Man will still be a good film. MS hasn't failed yet. I doubt they will with this project.

@Omega

He didn't say no one cared. He questioned how many people actually cared about Ant-Man when it was announced and how many wanted to see it now that Wright left.

Since the day they said the main Ant-man is not Hank Pym, my interest cut half, now Edgar is gone....I STOP GIVING A SHIT ABOUT THIS MOVIE....

i think now...instead of Ant-Man, the movie should be called PYM, and just focus on Hank Pym and NOT his various super hero mantles. Hank and Jan..THATs what this movie should be about. i think Ant-Man just don't sell and Pym's got so many stuff up his sleeves other than just the shrinking formula, so..it's a pity they'd chosen to go behind Scott Lang as antman and NOT Pym, who's personally one of the most interesting characters in the marvel u.

he abuses his wife, his psyche's pretty unstable for a super hero, and he keeps making serious mistakes in his actions...just give the role of Pym to Paul Rudd and make Michael Douglas as a villain and it'll set right for the rest of the MCU.
