Since production started on Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, director James Wan has shared a couple of fun sneak peeks at the costumes we'll see in his DC Comics sequel. However, as promised, DC FanDome delivered a proper first look at the movie in the form of a behind-the-scenes featurette.
There's a lot of colourful concept art to be found here, all of which drops at least some hints about what fans can expect from the Aquaman follow-up. The King of Atlantis' stealth suit looks awesome in action, but it's Black Manta's overhauled appearance that is generating the most buzz on social media. It was pretty comic accurate back in 2018, but this new version is somehow even better.
Elsewhere, there's a shot of Amber Heard suited up as Mera, and lots of interview content with the cast and crew. It isn't the trailer some were hoping for, but we knew that was a long-shot.
For fans of Jason Momoa's Arthur Curry, though, it's impossible not to be excited after watching this. We're certainly anxious for more, but that's probably something Warner Bros. is saving for 2022. Wan promises a "more mature" sequel in Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, anyway, so those of you who didn't necessarily enjoy that last effort might find more to like with this movie.
