The WB Network has commissioned a pilot movie for a live-action Aquaman series from Smallville producers Al Gough and Miles Millar.

"The series is envisioned as a contemporary reinterpretation of the character who lives in the deep sea and enlists sharks and other oceanic creatures to help him in his crime-fighting endeavors," according to Dark Horizons.

Look for Aquaman to be a man in his early 20s and, like Smallville, there'll be no costumes or other superhero accessories. Alan Ritchson, who appeared as the character on Smallville, is not likely to be cast in the role.

The pilot goes before cameras early next year in Florida.
