Well to use words from the fake Mandarin, I never saw that coming!

In case you missed it, well before the announced date(supposedly at the end of the next Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. episode) we were going to get our first glimpses into The Avengers: Age of Ultron, the sequel to the successful 2012 blockbuster The Avengers. However to everyone's surprise, the first trailer has made its way to the internet.

Having watched it, I can pretty much surmise that:

•Things are gonna get dark! I mean considering the future directions Marvel wishes to take their franchise with a Civil War looming over us.

•The Avengers might actually lose this one. There's so much destruction here and it doesn't feel like it's typical of the first Avengers movie in terms of tone.
•There are more questions than answers. Just watch the trailer and you'll see what I mean.
•Disney is really creeping itself in, using that song from Pinocchio.

Overall I feel that if the first movie was A New Hope, then this would be The Empire Strikes Back.

That voice, so creepy yet very classy. "...there are no strings attached..."

Trailer is awesome but still no Rhodey or Falcon? I am sorry Marvel but that is complete and utter disrespect to those characters. I mean the end of the world is upon us, and these two men are simply chilling somewhere not helping. Maybe it is racism, didn't truly think that before but not having Rhodey and Falcon is not right at all.

@gliderman I keep hearing that about Rhodey, hope it is true. Even if it is in the Iron Patriot armor and not the War Machine armor. Falcon is an epic fail if he is not involved. How can you leave him out after the relationship built with Cap in TWS. I was already disappointed Rhodey was not involved in Avengers, I know we already had IronMan and really didn't need him. However to make the MCU feal more authentic why wouldn't Fury give Rhodey a call. He has a battle suit, battle experience, and is already part of military chain of command. Rhodey would be a huge asset for Fury, even before the events of Avengers.

There's a shot in the trailer where it looks like Black Widow comes face to face with Ultron, and Lord now I'm scared. They might kill my bae.

I found the trailer a little underwhelming.

The part where Quicksilver saved Captain America, who was cornered in a bus I might add, made me uneasy about how Whedon is going to portray my badass Captain.

Ultron looks great; though I'm already getting tired of the "batshit crazy" villain train CBMs seem to be jumping on.

First Tony does a clean slate, now he's made Avengers robots and a hulk buster????

Overall, I have yet to be mind blown. Movie looks fair, better than the first Avengers.

@HurricaneXavier

While you were in the right to say it wasn't news and had to be moved, I find the irony hilarious in that your profile basically says "When the whole world tells you to move, you tell the whole world 'no, you move.'"

Rhodey is in the party scene. You see him in the trailer with the others when Ultron mark 1 saunters out.

I think it's a shame that people are taking the pinochio song as a Disney thing rather than taking it in the context of the story.

Write this down: The sceptre is going to have a hand in Ultron's creation. Either Von Strucker blasts Ultron with it or Ultron comes in contact with it and triggers his self awareness. I bet Ultron becomes aware of the other stones but keeps it to himself but its gonna tie back to the stones somehow. That smashed Ultron appears after the Avengers take down Hydra which leads me to believe there is a catalyst for him becoming self aware during that struggle.
