AVENGERS: ENDGAME - See 26% More Of The Picture With IMAX Version Of The Latest Trailer

IMAX has released an expanded version of the latest Avengers: Endgame trailer and while there isn't any new footage, you can see 26% more of the picture! With hours before tickets go on sale, check it out!

It's thought that tickets for Avengers: Endgame will go on sale later today, and while we all wait on tenterhooks to find out whether or not that will happen, IMAX has released a new version of the latest trailer. There isn't any fresh footage here but the expanded ratio means we get to see 26% more of the picture! Honestly, it's surprising what a big difference this makes.

Take the scene with Rocket and War Machine, for example; it just looks a lot more immersive and it's clear that seeing Avengers: Endgame on an IMAX screen will be the best way to experience this film.

That's not possible for a lot of moviegoers, of course, so here's hoping that unlike Avengers: Infinity War, the Blu-ray will feature the expanded aspect ratio because it will obviously look a whole lot better. For now, though, this trailer makes for fun viewing and we're hoping Marvel Studios releases a new TV spot if and when tickets do end up going on sale today.

Look... movies... just make up your mind. Is a wider screen better or not?

Sure, more resolution is always better, but this aspect ratio nonsense is... oh shit, I forgot...

@Spock0Clock - In my opinion a wider screen isn’t better at all. I prefer the 2:1 aspect ratio Netflix uses for most of its originals

@MalseMarcel - Personally, I just want some kind of standard. I grew up trying to convince my parents to rent widescreen versions of movies for our standard definition TVs because I wanted to get as much of the movie as possible, even if it's a bit smaller.

But now if I get a copy of a movie shot in IMAX ratio for my 16:9 screen I'm getting a cropped picture once more, but this time it's the top and bottom I'm losing. It's quite frankly maddening.

@Spock0Clock - Agreed. Although it's not the best solution, I do like how movies like Back to the Future handled theatrical and home releases in terms of aspect ration. But as I said, I think 2:1 is the best and in my opinion that should be the norm

@DnA - I really wish I had a Farscape version of "as many as are needed", but alas I don't.

@Spock0Clock - To me the audio system is more important at theaters. Tired of people talking throughout movies, so if the audio is really loud it shuts everyone the [frick] up. Its annoying to see horror movies in theater now.

There is only so much the eye can see and since I wear glasses it doesnt really matter as long as I can read the font and see the film clearly. But there is a huge difference between standard and imax IMO.

Also, I don't really follow this sort of thing, but I was wondering how Captain Marvel was doing in the box office, and I'm sure Josh already has the one billion article prepped. Mojo has it at 992M.

When all you maniacs kept saying "a billion" for months and months, I thought you were getting out over your skis, but I'll take my share of crow on this one. One billie. Higher, further, faster, baby.
