AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR Directors Seemingly Regret Shooting That And AVENGERS: ENDGAME Back-To-Back

Avengers: Infinity War was the biggest superhero movie of all-time and Avengers: Endgame is quite possibly the most highly anticipated. However, Joe and Anthony Russo may have at least one regret...

After the success of Captain America: The Winter Soldier and Captain America: Civil War, it's no great surprise that Marvel Studios locked in Joe and Anthony Russo for Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame. The former earned over $2 billion at the box office, while the latter will more than likely earn the same, if not more.

After that and the critical acclaim Infinity War received, you'd think that the filmmakers would be riding high but Anthony has now revealed the one regret they have about making these movies.

When the director was asked what specifically what they would change looking back, he candidly responded: "We wouldn’t shoot them back-to-back. [Laughs]"

"I think the challenge for all of us was finding the balance between the two films," Russo explained. "Because each film is so complex on its own that sometimes considering both of them was a bit overwhelming. So we looked for opportunities in the process to separate the two so that our brains could be fully focused on the narrative."

"While the films have a connection," he concluded, "as the Marvel films do, they are distinct stories."

You can see where Russo is coming from as it obviously would have been helpful for them to have time to reflect on Infinity War and see what audiences responded to before making the sequel. As it stands, the story was locked in before Infinity War even hit theaters and what will be, will be.

Set photos leak of the Russo's almost being corrupted by the process

I don't think any of us can imagine how daunting of a task filming these gigantic culmination films.

I'd imagine the russo's, Markus, and mcfeely all had to watch all the prior movies multiple times so that they could have all these callbacks like "when I drift off i'll dream about you... It's always you"

I can see where they're coming from. On the one hand shooting them back-to-back means they would have had 360 degrees vision of the set at any time, but on the other it must have been awkward when Joe wanted to say something to someone and Anthony was facing them, and vice versa.

@Metan - more so than the complexity being the bigger issue, the pure time involved... where you have much reduced time with family and friends. do that for two years straight and it can be exhausting and really mess with relationships.

This is slightly worrying to be honest. Not that i think the film will be poor - but if have the directors areseemingly having 2nd thoughts on the process then it sounds like they havent made the best film they could make..
Listen..EG will be dope ..we all know that..#intherussoswetrust ...just sparking conversation... as if they're coming up with excuses now before the things out....should it give cause to worry?

If they hadn't shot back to back we wouldn't be getting endgame this year. So thank you both!
