Although it looks like Peter Parker is going to attempt to fill Tony Stark's shoes in Spider-Man: Far From Home, there's a decent chance Marvel Studios will eventually introduce a character to officially take up the mantle of the Armored Avenger.
Could that be Riri Williams, aka Ironheart? It looks like she would be Robert Downey Jr.'s choice.
Ironheart writer Eve Ewing introduced Downey during a gala at the Gene Siskel Film Center over the weekend, and the Avengers: Endgame star reportedly told attendees that he believes the young hero should be a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
There was actually an Ironheart spec script doing the rounds on The Blacklist last year, but that featured Stark mentoring Riri Williams and training her up as his replacement. After the events of Endgame that's obviously impossible, but the story could be reworked so that Riri suits-up after being inspired by Tony's sacrifice.
At any rate, even if Marvel does have tentative plans to introduce Williams, it's probably not going to happen for quite a while. Still, it's nice to know that RDJ has given his seal of approval.
