Brian Michael Bendis Praises Joss Whedon's "Fantastic" Take On Ultron In THE AVENGERS: AOU
Reiterating what Joss Whedon has already said about The Avengers: Age of Ultron not being related to the comic book series of the same name, comic book writer Brian Michael Bendis praises the filmmaker's "fantastic" take on the villain. Check it out!
When the title of Joss Whedon's sequel to The Avengers was announced at Comic-Con, many fans panicked. Surely it wouldn't be based on the critically panned comic book series (which IGN described as, "a giant waste of time") of the name? Thankfully, the writer and director of the movie was quick to debunk these rumours and now the writer of that series has done the same. However, he also praises Whedon's take on the villain! "As has already been revealed...not much. my story was based on the concept that Ultron had been a threat to us for many many years while Joss’ story is the birth of Ultron as it relates to the Marvel cinematic universe. Joss’ has a fantastic take on the character. big surprise :-)" Age of Ultron was originally called Ultron War and some are speculating that Marvel's comics division may have changed the title after learning what the sequel would be called. That certainly makes more sense than Whedon basing it off the comic book and was a clever marketing strategy as the collected edition of the event shot up the sales chart on Amazon following the announcement. What do you guys think?
