What Does Marvel Have in Store for Comic-Con??

This is just my way of seeing how you guys are gauging the news that Marvel has three unannounced films in the works I am going to give you my opinion on what I think they will be and what I want them to be.

Editorial Opinion

Read what I got in mind and sound off in the comments, keep it civil and try not to antagonize the trolls, they are a very sensitive people.

So first of all the things I believe we will see in this new slate of movies

1. Dr. Strange- It is all but been confirmed that he will be the next Marvel franchise that they try to build. I think this is a great move because Marvel is now expanding into all sorts of territory. Within the realm of magic there is no one as powerful as Dr. Strange he is the sorcerer supreme and defender of our dimension. The possibilities of where this can go are endless. Dr. Strange will be the perfect bridge between science and magic that Marvel will sorely need as we approach the cosmic aspect in Guardians of the Galaxy. It is also within the realm of possibility to introduce other magic based characters such as Brother VooDoo and Morgana Le Fay and the monsters of the Marvel Universe Dracula Frankenstein and Werewolf by Night. I think there is more than enough room for all of these characters in a Dr. Strange franchise. Also, I feel the good doctor will be an opening to reintroduce Blade into the MCU.

2.Black Panther- It really is a shame that we haven't already got this movie, in my opinion we should have seen him in phase one. I truly believe that we will get the big announcement at Comic-con. T'Challa is one of the best Avengers of all time and his story would make for a very compelling film. Here you have a man that can stand toe to toe with Cap and match minds with Iron Man and with the recent king of the dead thing added to his background he has potential to mix it up with the mysticism of the aforementioned doctor. I don't want to get into a fanfic but in my view it would be best to start out with his father wearing the mantle and dying in the beginning and then let the Panther cub take it from there.

3. The Incredible Hulk 2- I really do think that a Hulk sequel could work in a post Avengers world. The audience got to see a version of the hulk that they enjoyed and I think that means it is time to see a sequel. I don't care where they go with it but I believe that the Hulk is the best character to have the other Avengers cameo in a solo film. I really enjoyed Mark Ruffalo's interpretation of Bruce Banner and would like to see him confront Thunderbolt Ross. I like the idea of the super-soldier serum cut with the Extremis virus and perhaps give us a great Red Hulk storyline. If you get the Red Hulk, The Abomination and the Leader together it would give the Hulk a hell of a fight that he will need to call in some of his super friends to help him out.

Now for the films I would like to see announced

1. Daredevil- The rights are back home so now would be a great time to let us see a really cool Daredevil movie. I had no real problem with the Daredevil Directors Cut but I still feel it can be improved upon. When we talk about a gritty realistic superhero movie Daredevil is the guy that fits that bill. I have no idea who should play him or what story it should be based on but I would really love to see The Man Without Fear on the big screen again.

2.Ms.Marvel- The fact is that we have yet to see a strong female character receive her own movie from either of the big two publishers. It really is a race to see who can get a successful female franchise started. If there is one thing that Joss Whedon knows how to do it is write strong bad ass female characters. So green light this shit with Joss directing and there you go...Carol Danvers is alive.

3.No more sequels- I think out of the pantheon of characters that Marvel holds the rights to we should let the big dogs from the Avengers rest and open the door to new fresh heroes and ideas like, Heroes for Hire, Nova, The Inhumans and the Runaways it could be connected to the current MCU but just show off different sides and aspects of what has already become established.

Well true believers thats what I got, tell me what you think we will see or what you would like to see, this has been your friendly neighborhood inkslinger bidding you adieu. Excelsior!

I agree with all of these. I reckon Dr. S is a given but BP and any of the others you list would satisfy me.

Nice article....I would love to see TIH2....to me TIH was underrated and is my favorite with IM1 and Avengers from phase 1!

Dr Strange will be the only announcement character wise, they'll also show a trailer for Captain America The Winter Soldier. It wont be like last year where they announced about 5 movies, that was only because Phase 1 had ended and the only movie that we knew for Phase 2 was Iron Man 3.

Hope that Marvel decides to make Inhumans.

I love your points man! I think we may get a Black Panther film in phase 3 but I dont want to get my hopes up, i thought they would have delivered in phase 2 but they came out with GOTG. Hulk 2 would be amazing as a monster/thriller. Like leader breaks out of sheild and starts creating gamma monsters and banner/hulk have to stop him from killing tons of people and turning people into gamma monsters, it would kinda play out a little like amazing spiderman with lizard turning fools into lizards, but way better cuz its the hulk.

i completely agree NO mORE SEQUELS AFTER 2! wait a bit till you make the 3rd in the franchise so you can actually build to something even bigger, so we can at least see this actors in the rolls a little bit longer before you switch them out for new guys. just take your time marvel!

I think I might be the only guy who might disagree with you on the sequels thing. I personally love coming back to the heroes I love in sequels. And introducing a ton of new franchises will just fatigue the audience.

Not to mention every time Marvel starts a new franchise that's another investment that could go sour. While it's a nice thought to space out the sequels more and more from each other, I really wouldn't like waiting until the next Avengers to come out to see my favourite characters. I already have to do that for Hawkeye and Hulk in this phase, and it looks like I'll have to do it for Iron Man in the next phase.

My money is on that Marvel's gonna play it safe, and you'll see a few new franchises, but more than likely sequels to Thor and Cap, and maybe Guardians, if it does well, in Phase 3. They're still in the business of making money, and sequels are less of a gamble.

I don't know why but I have this feeling that Tony will die in Avengers 2. Whedon likes to kill characters. Tony would be a huge impact if he died. I know Marvel said they will recast after Downeys done, but, I don't know. I just feel, like they might change their mind. Solve the problem with RDJ leaving in a different way. If the Phases stay popular, and they keep going, what if the person to replace RDJ sucks............I mean, would they recast again if his film tanks? He's my favorite character in the MCU, so I hope none of these things happen. I guess they just need to clone RDJ.

@Inkslinger, at first I wanted Mark Ruffalo to only be in the avengers movie anf Edward Norrton to be in the solo movies but we all know that wont happen. Its not like i didn't enjoy ruffalo's interpratation. It was just a thought.

Sequels are inevitable, and what the MCU is all about - solo character franchises that are part of a bigger franchise. Marvel will most likely alternate between 'safe' films (sequels) and more riskier new films so we will have something like this;

Avengers (a risk, which became a big success)
Iron Man 3 (safe)
Thor 2 (safe)
Cap 2 (safe)
GotG (risk)
Avengers 2 (safe)
Ant-Man (risk)
Thor 3 (safe)
Dr.Strange (risk)
Cap 3 (safe)

Hopefully, they will extend Phase 3 to contain more films before going into Avengers 3.

I would like a different approach to the sequels though - like teaming up established chracters, eg Cap & Hulk; http://www.comicbookmovie.com/fansites/SuperheroSpeculation/news/?a=80839

I can't see Hulk getting his own solo film again, and I wouldn't want him to. Give me new chracters instead.

Vin is perfect for Black Bolt, but... It's waste of such good voice... Inhumans would be perfect for Marvel to expand no-toleration for superhumans and perfect way to introduce Namor (only cameo like in The Inhumans comic)
inkslinger616
inkslinger616 - 7/4/2013, 10:11 AM
@fangz...I could deal with that line up for Phase 3...and I think perhaps we could introduce Carol Danvers and Abigail Brand through GOTG although I really think Ms. Marvel would make more sense being introduced in a Cap film or maybe even The Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. show

Iron Man isnt dying. We womt get DD for a while (unfortunately) and i cant imagine an Inhumans movie coming out before they see how GotG does with audiences. I think we get Black Panther, Dr. Strange, Ant Man and MAYBE on more. I really hope its a Nova spin off because that would be a direct jumping off from Guardians. At some point (maybe in a Nova movie) Danvers HAS do be introduced. The Winter Soldier will tell us alot about phase to. They said its pretty much a sequal to the Avengers. What wpuld really be awesome is if some way they insert Dr. Strange into Thor 2. That would be a great intro. I dont think it will happen but it would be amazing.

sikwon -> I would rather see Nova as a replacement for Silver Surffer in Defenders movie. I see squa changed that way:
-Strange
-Namor (my comment above, cameo in Inhumans first)
-Iron Fist(Device from Rand industreis needed, so we can introduce Danny)
-She-Hulk(Let Hulk stay with Avengers and introduce Jennifer in TiH sequel - Gamma World)
-Nova - as I said above
-Maybe someone else, who knows...
