BATMAN: THE LONG HALLOWEEN Blu-ray Cover Puts The Spotlight The Dark Knight, Catwoman, And The Joker

The Blu-ray cover for Batman: The Long Halloween has been officially revealed, and it highlights three key characters from the movie: Batman (Jensen Ackles), Catwoman (Naya Rivera) and Joker (Troy Baker).

The first trailer for Batman: The Long Halloween, Part One was released last week, and that's now been joined by the phenomenal cover art for the highly anticipated movie.

Starring Jensen Ackles (who voiced Jason Todd in Under the Red Hood) as the Dark Knight, the Blu-ray understandably puts the spotlight on the title character alongside Catwoman (voiced by the late Naya Rivera) and Troy Baker's Joker. It's a cool piece of imagery which does a great job of teasing what's to come in this animated adaptation of the iconic comic book storyline.

Inspired by the mid-1990s DC story from Jeph Loeb and Tim Sale, Batman: The Long Halloween, Part One begins as a brutal murder on Halloween prompts Gotham's young vigilante, the Batman, to form a pact with the city's only two uncorrupt lawmen (Police Captain James Gordan and District Attorney Harvey Dent) in order to take down The Roman, head of the notorious and powerful Falcone Crime Family.

However, when more deaths occur on Thanksgiving and Christmas, it becomes clear that instead of ordinary gang violence, they're also dealing with a serial killer - the identity of whom, with each conflicting clue, grows harder to discern. Few cases have ever tested the wits of the World's Greatest Detective like the mystery behind the Holiday Killer.

The movie is set to be released this summer and was written by Tim Sheridan and directed by Chris Palmer (who previously collaborated on the recent Superman: Man of Tomorrow).

Should’ve put the other more prominent villains on the cover, but Joker gets people’s attention

Not sure why Joker is on the cover for TLH, he didn't have that big a part. The DCAU does like to put it's own twist on the plot, but I hope they don't on this story.

@RageDriver2401 - I think since its split into two movies they're making Joker the physical villain of the first half with Holiday as the mystery that won't be solved until the second half. I expect Harvey to get scarred as the ending of this to set him up for two face in the sequel.

@RageDriver2401 - but I think there could be another possibility. It could also be that he's being made up to be more prominent than he really is because dc knows Joker sells tickets and he's only going to be a bit more prominent than he was in the book. Harvey Dent is my favorite Batman villain so I'm holding out hope that they do him justice and this isn't just the joker show.

@grif - my biggest frustration about this is them completely bailing on mimicking Sales art style at all. This looks stylistically completely different, and im not sure why you as DC would adapt your most iconic stories but nerd the visual styles that helped make the tales iconic.

No semblance to Tim Sale's artwork makes this an automatic disgrace. This is not The Long Halloween, it's a half- baked adaptation.
