David S. Goyer On BATMAN/SUPERMAN Title; Says Zod's Fate Will Be Addressed In Sequel

Both David S. Goyer and Henry Cavill were at DC's "Superman: 75th Anniversary Celebration" panel at the San Diego Comic-Con, and the former revealed that they have yet to choose a title for the movie and promised that the way Superman dealt with General Zod WILL be addressed in the movie.

Unfortunately, David S. Goyer and Henry Cavill didn't let slip any huge details about the recently announced Batman/Superman movie, but did reveal that they have yet to decide on a title for the Man of Steel sequel. "We don't know what we're going to call it yet — 'Superman vs. Batman,' 'Batman vs. Superman,' — but those two guys on screen, that's happening." World's Finest seems to be a popular choice among many fans, but that may not be the best title to help sell this movie to regular moviegoers. What would you guys like them to choose? When Goyer was asked whether or not he was surprised about the backlash surrounding Superman breaking General Zod's neck at the end of Man of Steel, he replied: "To a certain extent, Superman, cinematically, hadn't been reinvented since the Donner films. We will be dealing it with the coming film. He's not fully formed in [Man of Steel]. He will have to deal with the repercussions in the next film."

Good. Let Superman progress to being the hero we all know and love rather than him already being the big blue boy scout.

Dc FTW! Just don't let Goyer write alone. He is weak alone.

i think it will be called
man of steel: worlds finest but who r we to know..
that title makes the most sense to me...
and i am glad this is happening...and i called it from the beginning that in MOS clark isnt fully developed as superman YET! so all the death n stuff wasnt all his fault cuz he wasnt really in control or fully developed as superman..

I say have Lex Luthor use the devastation of Metropolis as a means of turning the world against him. Meanwhile Lex Luthor and Bruce Wayne join together to rebuild the city but Lex proposes a plan to subdue Superman and asks for Wayne Enterprises partnership in doing so. Bruce Wayne refuses and seek out Superman as Batman. The two butt heads but then come together to stop Lex Luthor.

I'm a little bit nervous of what Marvel have coming..in a good way.

But DC has impressed me. It seems they finally have their shit together!

m happy that we are getting this batman and superman movie(before justice league too) but I still think they should have done the batman reboot first or even man of steel 2. this could definitely work really good if they were using the same batman from tdk triology.

I don't know if this movie will be a batman reboot, a superman sequel or both.

And regarding people calling Goyer a hack and shit writer I humbly disagree. I think he can write great stories but when it comes to screen plays he tends to drop the ball on certain aspects. The reason why I think he gain so much acclaim for TDK trilogy is because he had Nolan to basically meet him half way when it came to bringing the story on screen.

Batman vs Superman. I dig it. Simple yet open to interpretation. Obviously the whole movie won't be Batman vs Superman. Lex and his business associate Bruce Wayne concerned over the alien that tore up metropolis. I am so excited I wish it was 2015.

It's great to be a comic fan. Not a Marvel or DC fan, but as a whole. This comic con is the best EVER. Next year might top it though because 2015 will be a huge year for movies.

Batman/superman untitled movie.
The avengers 2
Independence Day 2
Fantastic four
Terminator reboot
Pirates of the Caribbean 5
Star Wars 7
Maybe Star Trek 3
Avatar 5
Jurrasic park 5
Mission impossible 5
Ant man
Hunger games last chapter
AND James Bond 24

Holy shit!! So pumped

Is prefer World's Finest, but I can see why WB would want Batman and Superman in the title.

I can also see in the movie Batman gives Superman shit for killing Zod and explains how he has become a symbol and must use discretion against these villains and always finding another way.

The only way Marvel could match this announcement is if they say Spidey and Wolverine are going to be in a future Avengers movie. And that ain't happening.

There should be NO ELEMENTS OF THE DARK KNIGHT RETURNS IN THIS FILM!
TDKR should have it's own movie & those themes & Batman's interaction with Superman should stay in that storyline.

This new BATMAN & SUPERMAN:Worlds Finest should be ALL ORIGINAL STORY!

HUGE MISTAKE. They should reintroduce Batman not in Batman/Superman movie, but in his solo adventure. First MOS2, then WonderWoman, Flash, Batman reboot, JLA. Looks like somebody at WB got scarred.
ekrolo2
ekrolo2 - 7/20/2013, 5:39 PM
@sameoldthing

Why do you care if they use elements of it? You already had your perfect comic to movie of Dark Knight Returns anyhow.

Superman/Batman:World's Finest. That way you have everyone seeing Supes name and Bats name and that alone will get people to see them if they are only a fan of one. Then you have the title of World's Finest to the comic that they both were in.

Justice League needs to be after Bats/Supes film...who wants to wait for this then another MOS movie..too damn long & not needed.
