Dr. Hugo Strange To Be Featured In The Dark Knight Rises After All?

Taken with grain of salt, an arguable production update for The Dark Knight Rises suggests that the villainous Dr. Hugo Strange will appear, plus his motive in the film. Check it out!

Speculated on several occasions, until the developing cast were being announced, a new outset may reveal that the villainous Dr. Hugo Strange will be appearing in Christopher Nolan's long-awaited The Dark Knight Rises film. In a production update via My Entertainment World, the site offers the following:

DARK KNIGHT RISES, THE (aka MAGNUS REX & FOX HILLS GREEN) - Mid June, 2011 - India & London, UK & New York, NY & Pittsburgh, PA; Details Are only Available By Subscription.. STORY: As Batman deals with his new status as a wanted vigilante, Dr. Hugo Strange, a villainous psychiatrist, concocts a plan to destroy him and become the new Batman. (Posted: June 17, 2010. Revised: April 11, 2011)

While the validity of the site is questionable, the productions opposite TDKR are verily accurate. And also, with the confirmed villains appearing in the film, Hugo Strange's "plan" could easily involve Bane, Catwoman, Talia al Ghul and even Alberto Falcone. And it's also known there will be a vintage villain. Anyhow, take it with a grain of salt, as production gears up this summer.

I theory I have, if Hugo doesn't appear, at least by name, his motive of wanting to be Batman could be mixed with one of the other new confirmed characters. What do you think?

Anyhow, starring Christian Bale, Morgan Freeman, Anne Hathaway, Gary Oldman, Tom Hardy, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Michael Caine, Josh Pence and Marion Cotillard rumored, The Dark Knight Rises hits theaters July 20, next year!

I'm expecting this to be hard to believe, but you never know. What I do think is, if Hugo doesn't appear, at least by name, his motive of wanting to be Batman could be mixed with one of the other characters.

I was thinking that Nolan would mix Bane with Strange.

StrangerX@ That could be possible? However if Hugo appears in the movie as totally separate character i would like to see Bryan Cranston in that role.

I think it would be cool to include Hugo Strange in the film. I honestly hope they don't mix his characters with Bane. Nolan has done a pretty good job with staying pretty true to the characters. Hugo Strange would be a great addition to the mix of characters and will help end the trilogy with a great big bang!

@JULEZ13: I suppose I wouldn't mind this, either, but still; I feel Bane deserves most of the spotlight, as he's one to strategically take Batman down. Bane is like Ras and Joker put together. Why wouldn't they let him be the main bad guy? I dunno, maybe they can pull it off...

Hugo Strange won´t be in this.
That´s bs.
I hope Strange isn´t in TDKR.

Perhaps Strange could utilise Bane for his pure strength and perhaps Alberto for an undercover role in order to gain information on people close to Batman? (All part of a master plan) I don't know, just a thought.

I wonder if all these anti-grif posts make him cry?

As for this rumor; what ever happens, happens.

itbegins, I'm sure Nolan will get right on that just for you and your nerves.

Hugo Strange NEEDS to be in this. He could have a complex relationship with Bane. Bane is like an amalgamation of Strange and Ra's Al Ghul in the sense of his brilliance and obsession of Batman. This film is going to be EPIC.

@jer3miah: I agree with you. Bane should be he main villain. It would be cool to see them both fight. But I just figured having Hugo Strange would make more conflict.

I honestly don't care I just wanna see a good CBM. I'm just hoping its better than TDK because if Ledger wasn't in it that movie would've really dragged. IMHO.

In the "Prey" storyline, wasn't Strange experimenting on people? Bane can be one of his experiments.
Hopefully they'll give Catwoman some ties to the Falcone Family.
& Then we have Talia in the mix wanting revenge...

this is why i dont believe anything except the characters. i honestly dont even think that this is the real name of the movie. they're hiding the real details because they want to keep the plot under wraps

The idea isn't too far fetched, check out the comic Prey. Hugo uses some cop for his muscle to pose as a vigilante to bring down Batman (who at the time is considered a fugitive). I'm just a little leary of all these characters, seems this is the same recipe for disaster for any 3rd movie of a comic series. I hope it doesn't fail, if anyone can pull it off its Nolan.

Man, that's gonna be a but much. Bane, Catwoman, whoever Joseph Gordon Levitt's gonna play, and now Strange. I wish they just left out Bane and have Joseph play the Riddler so it would just be those three. We'll see how this will all go.

I don't get why there would be all these new characters. If this really is Nolan's last Batman movie, wouldn't he want to focus on Batman more?
