Is Bane To Beat Up The Batman In His Next Outing?

Is Bane To Beat Up The Batman In His Next Outing?

batman-news.com thinks so, and they also think they have a reliable source that puts Bane bashing The Bat in 'The Dark Knight Rises', again!

Is this not to be believed like the Tom Hardy/Hugo Strange rumor? Who knows, and only time will tell. But for now it's fun to speculate.

This from batman-news.com:

'Jett on his private BOF message board has been hinting that Bane may show up in The Dark Knight Rises.'

We all know the last time we saw Bane was in the poorly done Clooney Looney tune that was 'Batman and Robin'. They would have gotten it right if they would have had Arnold playing Bane and Patrick Stewart playing Mr. Freeze, and then paid Michael Keaton the money he wanted, to play the Bat getting his back broke.

Alas, it was not meant to be, but at least we have hope that the powers that be will, this time, hopefully, (if he's even in the movie), do Bane right!

What do you think? Is Bane in or out? And as always, don't be afraid to tell me how wrong I really am:)

Cool find jman. Long time, no see.

This would coincide nicely with the artist who placed the following pictures on his website months ago. He claimed he created these for the studio in hopes of landing a gig with the film.

As long as Bane is bad Ass like he was in Knightfall, I dont think we will be lucky enough to see him break Bats back (Warners next animated feature, any takers on that notion?), but lets not make him a stupid roided out gimp! Bane should be bad ass,, at least!

If they went with the smart, master planer Bane from original presentation, Javier Bardem would be PERFECT. I've been saying this for awhile. It would also work plot wise. The Joker was the opposite of Batman in that he is chaos and Batman is order. Bane is an opposite of Batman in that they are both for order and discipline, but Bane uses it for personal gain, and Batman uses it selflessly. Plus, we'd finally get a foe to challenge Batman physically, even if they didn't go over the top with the venom thing.

I think the main villain be Talia Al Ghul and she hires a mercenary or something along those lines like a Bane to kill the Batman.

I'm not sure if i like Bane for the Nolanverse... I would like to see him on the big screen in future movies though.

I tend to agree with Lansdowne5, as long as it's done well. A body builder playing either character could very easily lend itself to a cheesy outcome.

Bane would be awesome. He'd be a good pick for the Nolaniverse.

I think Bane would work better for an animated movie, where you wouldn't have another villain competing for screen time and you could have the time to properly pace Bane's origin, and his tracking and testing of the Bat before they actually met for the first time. I always thought Bane had an interesting origin, and a great twist on the traditional villain who rolls into Gotham and publicly calls Batman out. The character certainly deserves far better than he got in the reprehensible "Batman and Robin".

I'm not a fan of the Bane character, nor the notion of having him in a Chris Nolan directed Batman. As people pointed out, I think he MIGHT work in an animated movie.
Given the title of the next film, I can't see him making an appearance so for the time being, I'm not buying this.

Breaking his back would be an awesome end to the Nolan trilogy and open up for a reboot when Bruce becomes Batman again with new help from his partner of course ;)

I wouldn't mind this at all. I hope they put out another animated feature to bridge TDK to this movie. It would allow us to see another villain or two and set up the story for TDKR.

I'm not too keen on Bane. I think a story similar to "Heart of Hush" would be good, but with a different ending.

@ Inspace - I respect your idea but you can't end a series and then have it continue with a reboot. A reboot is a reboot; starting from scratch. I don't think it would go down well; "The Dark Knight Rises", where at the end he's a cripple :)

too many villains happening in this movie as it is. and if bane were in it they should not stop at 3 nolan batman movies. he gets his back broke by bane and doesn't batman reconstruct his spine thru bat technology or whatever? this would need to go past 3 movies.

I think that this could introduce Tom Hardy as Azrael! You could have Black Mask or Talia hire Bane to hunt down the Bat. Batman worn out from being on the run, can't put up much of a fight with Bane and Bane breaks him. Bruce has to find a replacement- enter Azrael.

AlexDeLarge87 - 1/10/2011, 8:44 AM
BANE WOULD BE [frick]ING AWESOME VILLAIN!!!:D
Dont underestimated him people! He was one of the smartest and most dangerous enemies of Batman in the comics!:D
Bane all the way!! But get Javier Bardem for the role! He would make [frick]ing realistic and terrifying Bane!
Tom Hardy as Black Mask or Hugo Strange, Marion Cotillard or Violante Placido as Talia, Brian Cox as Rupert Thorne and Ray Winstone as Harvey Bullock!
BruceWayneNewton
BruceWayneNewton - 1/10/2011, 8:50 AM
@thehuch- Tom Hardy as Azrael would be amazing. I dont think too many people would complain if thats how the series ended

I was only thinking today that it'd been a while since I'd seen you on CBM jman - welcome back! :) Great find too...I wouldn't mind seeing a Nolanised version of Bane in the next movie, because I think it's about time Batman faced off against a foe who completely overpowers him. Plus, it would be awesome to see him get his back broken, and the last few seconds of the movie to be an Inception like tease of Bruce recovering and once again resuming his role as Batman.
theHuch
theHuch - 1/10/2011, 9:03 AM
Azrael could have a few movies on his own, and then bring Batman back in a couple years to retake the cowl? Or you could end the trilogy with Batman beating Azrael.
Betty
Betty - 1/10/2011, 9:05 AM
Bane's ok. He is a slightly realistic character which is what Nolan likes. Breaking Bat's back would be a cool dark ending. It would even be cool to start off the next movie with the Azrael story line. Hmm maybe.
RyKnow
RyKnow - 1/10/2011, 9:09 AM
I'm not keen on this Azrael idea. Isn't this series of Batman films about his early years as Batman and not his final years??

magic8@ Who needs height if you got talent? Plus with few camera tricks they could easily make Bardem look taller. Think about The Lord of the Rings. How small Ian Holm looked like beside Ian McKellen and how good that was made.:)
