News Reports On The Romanian Set Of The Dark Knight Rises

The movie won't film there until March, but a local tv station has put out a couple of news reports from the soon to be Bucharest set of Christopher Nolan's TDKR..

Unfortunately the reports are in Romanian and there are no subtitles. But amid the footage from The Dark Knight and Batman Begins that is shown we do get glimpses of some work being done on the set(around the 2 minute mark in both vids).





It appears to be around the salt mine that was revealed to be a shooting location earlier in the week. A new Batcave perhaps? There is certainly a very distinctive look to the place. If we have any Romanian speaking CBMers please let us know what the various reporters, Mayors and set workers are on about please!

Latest Batman movie series will shoot in Romania. The information comes right from the Mayor of Bucharest, Sorin Oprescu. Film will begin shooting in late March. So, after Nicholas Cage, the Romans will see in the flesh and Christian Bale, the hero of The Dark Knight Rises, Batman series.

Lee@ You´re right!:) But hey maybe Nolan can use those awesome camera tricks from Lord of the rings to make Hardy look bigger! That would be cool! Im sure he could make it look very real!

But as long as Hardy nails the presence of Bane im happy!

Its because he is brilliant strategist and mastermind and great ultimate fighter!
In another words... Perfect warrior!:)
Warrior who is the only one who has breaked Batman´s back!

I mean The Joker did lots of bad thing! Shot Barbara Gordon in the back, killed Jason Todd / Robin among other things... But Bane is the one who breaked the Bat himself!:)

@ Taboo - Bale was impressively thin when he did the Machinist. I mean morbidly skinny. Then he bulked up for Batman Begins and Nolan had to ask him to lose some weight cause he was too big for the batsuit.

Hardy is a method actor just like Bale and can do the same. Saw him in The take, Rocknrolla, Bronson and obviously Inception. He gets into each character he plays and he can bulk up easily. Like AlexDeLarge said, check Bronson. The guy was huge and I bet he can get bigger.

i saw a clockwork orange for the first time the other day,what a classic.

i liked the first half better than the second half,but overall a very good film.

Fan boys,

Been a huge fan of this site for a while and never felt compelled to create an account until now. I can't believe how many complaints Bane and Catwoman are getting from "comic book fans". I question have those complaining read the story arcs with Bane? He makes Blackmask look like a joke. If you think Bane is muscle bound 1 trick pony read this:

Now more surprising than the Bane hate is the belief that he will be utilized as a big dummy parody in a Chris Nolan movie. This is the director who gave us Memento, Insomnia, Batman Begins, The Prestige, The Dark Knight and Inception. I mean really?????

Now to the Anne Hathaway casting. We all know Catwoman is supposed to be a sexy sultry woman. Now I'm not her hugest fan but I think this outcry is about the same as Heath being the Joker. AS long as she is a tough woman on her own right like The Bride, Ripley and Sarah Conner we will be all right.

Then there are those who cry "this smells of X3 and Spidey 3". I ask how? X3 Was done by Brett Ratner NOT Bryan Singer who helmed the first two X movies. Spidey 3 was a mess but if you all recall the suits forced Venom (a character Sam Raimi disliked) into the movie.

Nolan has shown that this is a batman series not a villain series. Bane breaking the batman will show the resilience of Batman. Being able to come back from something like that is truly heroic

That all being said here's my predictions:

I think the rumors are true and Batman Prey is the source material and Hugo Strange will be in it but Bane will replace Night Scourge. Maybe Bane will be forced to work for the Government secret six style.

Act 1: Batman's back is broken.
Act 2: Bruce gives up and does not want to recover. Something terrible happens because Batman is not around (Grayson's death, Gordon's wife's death or something to Selina). Now road to recovery.
Act 3: The Dark Knight Rises

The first thing I said coming out of the theater "How can Nolan top the threat of the Joker?" I think only Bane can.
