A rumor did the rounds a couple of weeks ago which suggested that an actress of color was being sought for the role of Selina Kyle/Catwoman in Matt Reeves'
The Batman, and now it looks like we may have confirmation.
While appearing on Barstool Sports'
"My Mom's Basement" podcast, Variety's Justin Kroll mentioned that women of color were being looked at for the feline femme fatale, and he has heard some interesting names that could be in line to land the part.
He doesn't mention any here, but it definitely sounds like an announcement might be imminent, and Kroll seems to feel that this will be a pretty major news story when it does finally break.
Catwoman is just one of many villains expected to appear in the film, and we know Jonah Hill is in talks for either Riddler or Pengion. Jeffrey Wright, meanwhile, has signed on to play Commissioner James Gordon, and Robert Pattinson will don the cape and cowl of the titular Dark Knight.
The Batman is currently scheduled to hit theaters in June of 2021.
