Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice, Zach Snyder's 2016 Justice League precursor, will begin filming military based scenes next week on June 11th. Warner Bros. held auditions for extras for the film back in April and are now calling back extras (for fittings) who auditioned for military roles.

“Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice,” is from director Zack Snyder and stars Henry Cavill as Clark Kent/Superman, Ben Affleck as Bruce Wayne/Batman, Gal Gadot as Diana Prince/Wonder Woman, with Amy Adams, Laurence Fishburne and Diane Lane returning from “Man of Steel,” Also are Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor, Jeremy Irons as Alfred, and Holly Hunter in a role newly created for the film. Opens May 6, 2016. Distributed by Warner Bros Pictures.

Nice, I'm glad the military still play a role, either as Luthor's ally or doing biological and technological warfare experiments from the Kryptonian technology, all sounds good.

More than 8000 extras? Damn. looks like the military is not done with Superman. Which kind of makes sense. The aftermath of MOS may have left the entire world shaken, and kind of hesitant to trust superman.

I also wonder if the parts that got destroyed by the World Engine in Metropolis became like Gotham during No Man's Land. If so that could be why the military will be in Metropolis. Also during No Man's Land LexCorp, Wayne Enterprises, S.T.A.R. Labs & US Army Corps of Engineers worked together to rebuild Gotham but now it will be for Metropolis instead.

Also during that time rebuilding Gotham it helped Lex get a Nobel Peace Prize. Because of all his humanitarian acts. After that it helped him get into the White House. Which sadly because of how young Jessie is I doubt they will want to make that version of Lex a President.
